Prospect Info: Sean Farrell, C/LW, 124th Overall

They start talking a bit of Habs around 51:30.

-Loves playing with Coronato, calls him one of the best goal scorers in the country
-They asked about him and Cole, said they haven’t been in touch too much but happy that he’ll be there in Montreal.
-loves playing in Harvard and that’s his focus right now
-Asks if he thinks about the Hobey Baker at all, says yeah a little bit would great to be in the conversation but lots of guys are having great years.
-Was mind blown that he got an opportunity to play at the Olympics. Was extremely happy to go, was a dream for him. Was hanging around a lot with Beniers.

Starts with Dev camp talk at 59:20

-Quick camp, but got a good feel of what organization wanted of him.
-excited for the future.
-can’t imagine how crazy it will be inside the bell Center, looks forward to it.

I really like playmaking wingers. They're rare. But nice to have wingers that can drive play. He should be good with Slaf or Heineman.

Yeah, pretty obvious he's signing at the end of the year and 0 risk of losing him to the loophole.

I honestly don't think any agent would advise a player to not sign in Montreal. Would take a very strong personality to survive doing that IMO, Montreal isn't Calgary or something like that.
Farrell will sign for sure with the Habs. Struble, possibly not. Why ? Lots of available spaces upfront. None on D.

Struble is a marginal prospect not the same kind of conversation IMO. Most Habs fans don't know who he is or care about him. I do expect he signs tho.
Struble was drafted in a second round. Farrell in a 5th round. When drafted, Struble was not considered a marginal talent at all.

I don't think the number of young D we have has any impact on whether Struble signs or not. Hughes has already shown he's willing to trade players where we had a surplus to fill other holes (Romanov for Dach).

Schuneman/Bowey are UFAs after this year, Norlinder and/or Leskinen could end up back in Europe, so Struble could potentially get some solid playing time in the AHL next year.

On top of that, Struble plays with Hughes' son. So I am sure they know each other and talk a lot.

Why doesnt have an impact on whether or not he signs or whether or not we sign him.
Id say its bubble right now ...
The young D being (signed)
Guhle, Harris, Xhekaj, Barron, Kovacevic, Mailloux, Norlinder, Trudeau, Fairbrother, (Beaudin likely signed).

(unsigned) Hutson, Engstrom. --> Tourigny/Nurmi

(Matheson/Savard/Eddy/Wideman all under contract)

Thats 12, and i'd put them all ahead of him (giver or take 2). Not to mention who we draft/sign... He is not a bad prospect thats not what im saying, but I really dont see him as a need, taking a contract spot. Would love to ship him out in the next couple days.
