The Canucks are clearly fine with waiting and teams will start getting more desperate at the deadline.
Let's hope both players have an impactful 4 Nations Cup.
I'd be mad if we didn't get Fantilli, but I can't tell if that's a complete pipedream given all the drama around this.Whats a reasonable cbj package for petey?
Probably something around Sillinger + prospect/pickWhats a reasonable cbj package for petey?

Not for Petey. It would be in the KJ/Voronkov/Fantilli range. Sillinger as the main piece is a fireable offense.Probably something around Sillinger + prospect/pick
I don't think it's a good trade at all, but I'm assuming other GMs are hitting Allvin with lowballs, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to get Petey with a package centered around Sillinger.265 games played, career high in points is 32 - if he's the main piece coming back I don't know how you even go to Quinn Hughes and present him an extension with a straight face knowing he wants to be on a contender.
Would be a disaster if the main piece isn't Kent Johnson/Adam Fantilli tbh.
Absolutely, and even going as far as to reiterate they don't want to trade either player.I think that's basically exactly what he was doing.
Everything is basically already out there so you're in a stronger position acknowledging it and kicking it back to the players as a challenge than just continuing to not comment and let things fester and let the media continue to speculate.
I naively hope Sillinger is available in a Miller deal. Super versatile player.
He's playing huge minutes this season (~17mins/game) and passes the eye test when I watch him play. I'd bet on him breaking out, especially if he plays a lot of minutes with Hughes on the ice.Does he have any untapped potential? A breakout candidate? Or is he limited and WYSIWYG? Only 21 but already his 4th season averaging ~30 pts a season.
Given his usage and age, his floor is pretty much a Boone Jenner type. He's their top PKer, plays centre, etc. I'm surprised to see him pop up on the trade rumours board from CBJ fans, but maybe I'm misremembering.Does he have any untapped potential? Maybe also a not so subtle message to the one who remains: ‘you’re going to be playing on a re-tooling team as we will have to replace the top line C you hate so much with a third liner’Absolutely, and even going as far as to reiterate they don't want to trade either player.
Kicking it back to the players as a challenge was the right thing to do, they're part of the core leadership group, both are wearing letters, and they need to take ownership of the situation on and off the ice.
Teams are questioning who is Elias Pettersson
so mysterious
He's going to be a tremendous 1/2C for probably fifteen years, but he's also unknown/underrated rights now so you definitely try to get him as an add on to another main piece.Given his usage and age, his floor is pretty much a Boone Jenner type. Sillinger being the main piece in a deal for Miller is something I'd be more open to, but 0 chance for Pettersson.
