Well whether you think Austria is good or not, they took an American team to OT where Farrell got the game winning assist.

Also he was dominant against Canada in the olympics, had a key assist in that game as well.

Also - the fact that he's on the Worlds team with 0 NHL experience is a feat, whether you want to downplay it or not.

He's a mid round pick without size and he's on Team USA's radar for the Olympics and the Worlds. He's also getting more and more time in key situations for Team USA, so he must be doing something out there, no?
Didn't he start the Worlds on the 4th line too?

Good news, I'm not up to date.

Farrell reminds me of Jake Evans in the sense that I had 0 expectations from such late round picks. But then every year, the guy is developing, and playing really well. But every year I thought, maybe , but nah, his odds are so long. And after 2-3 years you wonder if he has a shot at least. Maybe some upside with Farrell.

I liked him more than Luke Tuch who was picked in the 2nd round that year when I saw how he performed at the U.S. world Juniors camp - much better than Tuch.

Crazy that Farrell was our third 4th rounder that year. Shows how size can make a player drop.

A lot of the guys making a difference are small guys who dropped. Gaudreau, Point...

Yes, even in the New NHL.

In a redraft, I don’t think it would be crazy to say both Roy and Farrell are taken in the first round. Both with stellar D+1 seasons.

Farell is gonna have a better offensive upside than Evans., but he is small so he will needs to put points on board. Evans is a 4th line center and im fine with it

Farrell is short, but 175 lbs for his height is pretty decent. He weighs more than Ylonen lol!
Great weight for his 5f9 frame. The kid reminds me of a shorter version Kucherov back in his rempart days. The way he runs a power play, the one touch passes and one timers are that impressive. His IQ is simply off the charts. Some guy posted his playmaking stats compared to other NCAA players and it's Gaudreau-like. No doubt in my mind he's a futur NHLer... and a good one. We might finally have a worthy lefty in the Kovalev spot. Caufield oneT would benefit insanely from a cross ice finder like Farrell since no one's able to reach him that way.

Not many 4th line center post close to 30 even strength points playing with plugs. Evans have more offensive potential than people give him credit for imo

He is certainly a good player, but stats on a bad team needs to be taking with a grain of salt. With 2 great center, I could live with Evans as a 3rd centerman with good winger.

Bad team didn't equal opportunity for Evans. No PP time all year and his best winger was little Pitlick... Sure he's no top 6 and will never be paid like one but he's a great 3rd line center when healthy.

Wasn't Roy only a few weeks away from being draft eligible this year only also? (Maybe I'm confusing with some other player). After the year he's had I wonder where he'd be in the draft rankings if that were the case.

Maybe, but they are not in the same draft. 2020 vs 2021.

I don't think either are (yet) in the 1st round. But they are trending the right way to pass quite a few players short and long term.

You mean Luke Tuch, Alex Tuch's younger brother...

who has indeed been disappointing so far.... let's blame it on injuries and covid for now.... still has some years to play NCAA and make something of himself

I've watched Evans since he got to Laval. He's very smart. I've said for a while that he deserves a letter.

Let's hope Evan's can stay healthy! I feel like it he just tones his game down slightly and takes an extra second to observe his surroundings, he should be able to.

Farrell has been on steady incline last two years. A good year with the Steel and this year with Harvard. Was USA leading scorer in Olympics followed up by a good IIHF tourny

Is it confirmed that he is going back to College? Most guys who play in the Worlds play NHL the next year, no?
