Prospect Info: Sean Farrell, C/LW, 124th Overall

He's one most the most productive player of the US Team. After the USHL,NCAA and OG if he continue like that he will add the WC on his list of league/tournament where he was really successful.

By far our most underrated prospect.

Hard not to be really excited about this kid, with him doing so well playing with pros. You put what he did at the olympics plus his excellent rookie season in college into that mix and it's been a hell of a 21-22 . I can't see how he wouldn't have his ELC after next season, he might even be ready right now .
I remember seeing something about him wanting to do his 4 years of school.

I'm excited about him.

But it remains to be seen if he'll be a top 6 forward at the NHL level, or really what we want is good top 6 six forward or even 3rd liner.

A lot of road still to travel. Can't wait to see him at his first camp though for starters.

If we have Suzuki/Wright as 1C/2C I hope our 3rd line will not be a shutdown line but rather a speedy / forecheck line with players like Farrell, Pitlick, Evans (Kidney, Heineman, Smilanic).

That was Harris.
It wasn't Harris, it was this year around when his season ended and people wondered if he was going to be signed. I can't find the write-up about it thought. Too much Farrell at the Worlds stuff returned by google.

I don't remember him mentioning that, obviously there's not much the team could do if he were dead set on doing it. That said, if he has a real opportunity to turn pro after his second year he'd be kinda dumb not to take the chance, he can always graduate later in life. Time will tell I guess!

I remember that least year there were contradictory reports on him, one saying he’s finishing like Harris and the other signing after 3 years.

Here’s the TVA one saying he wants to play with Habs, didn’t find the opposite one

Another smart kid, can’t wait to see him in action.

I think unless you see the game differantly like Suzuki, Barkov or Tavares, you need to be very dynamic on the ice, even if you have all the talent in the world (I'm talking about top-6 regulars). He needs to play like Marchand or Caufield, always trying to make things happen. So far he's been doing that.

Farrell has good stats but his good stats in most of the adult tournaments come against the worst teams. I don't think I've heard of him putting up a point in a competitive game at a higher level.

His coach putting him on the ice at that level at his age without pro experience is a victory. Pointa are gravy on top. We probably shouldn't complain about the gravy's color.

Well whether you think Austria is good or not, they took an American team to OT where Farrell got the game winning assist.

Also he was dominant against Canada in the olympics, had a key assist in that game as well.

Also - the fact that he's on the Worlds team with 0 NHL experience is a feat, whether you want to downplay it or not.

He's a mid round pick without size and he's on Team USA's radar for the Olympics and the Worlds. He's also getting more and more time in key situations for Team USA, so he must be doing something out there, no?
