Prospect Info: Sean Farrell, C/LW, 124th Overall

I can't see a reason why Farrell should go back to college for hockey reasons.
I'm not crazy about prospects leaving the NCAA after only one year, but Farrell does make a decent case for it. It's also technically his sophomore season, since he would have played there in 20-21, had Harvard not cancelled their season. So he's already 20 and about as big physically as he's going to get. It's certainly worth thinking about it.

Yeah it's technically his second NCAA season and he's just torching the level.

I moved the discussion to his thread in case you didn't see the article I posted where he talks about possibly turning pro but hasn't talked to Gorton yet. A couple days ago when it was posted that Gorton would be going to meet with some of the US based prospects, I suggested it wouldn't surprise me if he goes to the Friday game of Farrell's next week as it's a big match up vs one of the top teams in the NCAA and they have a undrafted goalie who's been killing it and he's a local kid so might be worth his time to check him out.

If Farrell makes it be a shot in arm to our farm system. Already an average farm, with recent positives reviews on Farrell and Mailloux makes us a good farm system. Then we end up with top pick in draft? Along with 2 more first round picks. We have best farm system in league by July

If I'm honest, I didn't see Farell play that much, who got the biggest chance to become a really good top 6 player in the NHL, Farell or Roy ?

Covid needs to stop cause it's messing with our winning culture in Laval and filtering our young guys through it (Half our NHL roster is AHL guys). There is going to be prospect injection into our Laval team moving forward. Better than what we have seen in many years

Yes Roy skating need to be improved, hope the Habs will hire multiple skating coach to help prospect like Roy improve that part of there game.

Long overdue. As soon as we draft a player, we should know their strengths and weaknesses and help coach to elevate their strengths and minimize their weaknesses.

Agree, is Farell produce mostly on the PP ? Because for Roy, he's probably the best player in the Q when it's PP time but at 5 on 5 he got something to work on.

I don't have the numbers off hand but I think it's pretty even split. Their powerplay is strong but he's scored at 5 on 5 and even has some shorthanded points.

Interesting to know that Farell plays on PK. I would like our offense player to be used on PK in the minor league (especially in Laval), it's never a bad experience for them in the futur and it's good way for them to work there defensive play.

I had Farrell over Roy in my rankings but flipped them as to me it's very close, though I need to see a lot more of Roy. Farrell is smart, mostly hard working, plays with a bit of an edge, as he will stand up for his teammates and will get his nose dirty. Really good playmaker that has shown good improvement with his shot to the point it's a legit weapon.

But Farrell is in his age 20 season so it's tougher to compare.

Farrell has the better agility and skating to me, I think Farrell is the better prospect at this point.

To me it's very close but I would loo at it as Roy this year vs Farrell in his age 18 season. What Roy was doing before leaving for the WJC camp was more impressive as Farrell was on a stacked him. But I had Farrell over Roy and flipped them but aferwards thought I made a mistake. Both are among our top prospects imo.

Farrell and Caufield are really promising forward for Habs. Martin St.Louis will help both, Farrell is 5"9 and Caufield 5"7.

MSL is the best exemple that size doesn't matter, can't wait to see Farrell in Habs uniform.

Msl was stronger than a horse ... Not the same build as those guys at all, it kinda irrelevant.

If you are smallish and very strong AKA msl, you Win Board battle if you Play Them well. Cant see those 2 becoming above average at Puck retravial

Sean Farrell. No. 26 scored his hat trick the same day Martin St.Louis, No.26, was hired as coach. :D
