Prospect Info: Sean Farrell, C/LW, 124th Overall

a decent amount. There's over 60 teams in the NCAA, imo they should be split into 2. The NCHC, Hockey East and Big 10. These are the best conferences, they have the most winningest teams, they have the most NHL draft picks.

The ECAC, CCHA (used to be the WCHA) and the Atlantic (one of the teams Harvard faced tonight) plus the independent teams (Alaska, A Anchorgae, Alabama, Arizona, Long Island) should be in the other group. Teams in Group 1 shouldn't be allowed to play teams in Group 2. But often in the NCAA, early in the schedule good teams take on much weaker teams, as once the 2nd half schedule starts in Jan, it's mostly just conference games which are much tougher. It's why you see high scoring, or points leaders early on and then it tends to slow down a bit, although for Caufield it was the opposite as he started a little slow and then caught fire and never cooled off.
So we should tamper our expectations? All I saw was a surreal point per game pace, one that, so far, despite the small sample size, outdoes Caufield's..

Who is the most notable player to come out of Harvard? I only remember one habs prospect going there before and he was a bust.
This guy, the name we cannot pronounce!

True. The jury is still out on Farrell. The German and Swiss leagues are littered with little guys who put up big numbers in junior.

I decided to google this and see that fox is already the 8th highest scoring Harvard alumni in the nhl all time, lol.

No stars have come out of there, but fox looks like he's trending to be the first.
Fox is a star. He won the Norris in his second season.

It's not great wording on my part. Yeah a norris winner is a star. The only thing he doesn't have is longevity so we will see how that goes.

Some people are already calling him Brian leetch over there.

Friday they face Cornell, that should be a good test, Monday they face one of the hottest goalies in the NCAA in Levi who was Team Canada's goalie at the WJC's last year. He's got like 4 SO's already, so that should be a good test as well. They have a game coming up vs BC another good test. In the 2nd half they have 2 games vs the top team in the ECAC so another good test. But he will also face many weak teams as well and Harvard is likely going to have one of the best PP's in the NCAA from the looks of it.

I wish we could have gotten Levi. He looks like a future #1 goalie.

he's certainly looked impressive for the most part in the AHL but we'll see as he's not tall so you have to wonder how he will fair against NHLers.

9 points in 3 games it's pretty good. Big potential for sure.

He is going to play against Struble and Harris at November 9th.

Exciting start to Farrell's NCAA career.

Can't wait to see how we ignore his strengths, focus on his weaknesses and put him with two scrubs on the 4th line and ruin his chance at good NHL career. :sarcasm:

Bah, everyone just loves to over react... The thing is that being a great prospect doesn't insure you will make the NHL. Look around the league... it's full of guys who were thought of as top top talents who end up on waivers...

Case in point:
