Fair enough haha
In the end, he needs to be in a system that forces him to move his feet and be moving to where the play WILL be. His natural inclinations are incompatible with the modern NHL.

The Rangers 'system' which seems to rely a lot on pull up and read the play shit just amplifies his tendencies. He'd probably do well in any very strong system on a good team where he only has to fill a singular hole on the ice.

KK's numbers are pretty similar in Seattle so far to what they were here in NY.

NYR- 30 Games- 4 Goals-10 Assists- 14 Points- 13.17 minutes
STK- 06 Games- 1 Goals-02 Assists- 03 Points- 15.27 minutes

NYR- .6 Goals/60- 1.5 Assists/60- 2.1 Points/60
STK- .6 Goals/60- 1.3 Assists/60- 1.9 Points/60
So points (goals / assists) per game are about the same and his results /60 are also very similar, but he's getting almost 2 more minutes per game. What am I missing?

Similar is what I posted ☺️

Slightly more per game.
Slightly less per 60.

so... long story short is KK is a 30-40pt player until proven otherwise.

The hasty way that KK was vanquished tells me ...

Laviolette couldn't utilize him... Drury knew he wasn't an impact player...

And they realized the above after KK makes some backhand comments? They couldn't have made this determination sooner and gotten a better return.

This organization does everything wrong.. they mishandle everything practically.

I believe KK has been in trade talks on and off for a long time. If the team did anything wrong trade wise it was probably waiting too long and having the price drop. Was also hard to trade him last season. If the team trades Borgen for a 3rd then its two 3rds and a 6th. Im fairly sure those three picks can be packaged for a 2nd if the NYR are inclined to do so.

Here’s my math: his six game easy projects to 30 by multiplying by 5 resulting in 15 points, 1 extra point than what he got with the Rangers but in projected 2m10sec x 5 = 11 min? So then this is pretty bad but only has 0.2 p/60 reduction? Does it suppose to make sense that only one extra point in 11 extra minutes has such a lower impact?

The only “guarantee” I’ll offer regarding Kaapo is that he scores in his first game against us.

It’s a “thing” with Rangers alumni
Honestly he's the one ex-Ranger I'm pretty comfortable to predict that he wouldn't score.

Which tells me he is going to do the exact opposite in his return and score 4 and make Igor retire mid-period.

I watched Seattle play Vancouver a couple days ago and Kakko certainly fits the way they like to play in the offensive zone better than he did with the rangers outside of a few moments. How much will that matter to his overall production?who the hell knows for sure.

KK got a secondary assist last night. Wasn't a spectacular one but they all count. Jaden Schwartz is still a dangerous player. Looking at the Kraken he is the forward I would want if the price was reasonable but doubt that is the case.

Borgen was good last night. He clearly doesn't shy away from a physical battle and skates very well.

Doesnt fit the narrative. We traded a future all-star Kakko for a bag of pucks.

Borgen shows how checked out Trouba was. he's playing the simplest possible game and not backing down from physicality. Willing shooter. We're getting a better younger player for a fraction of the price.

He’s been pretty good since being acquired.

Small sample size but at least to this point the rangers have gotten the player they thought they were getting instead of getting someone who isnt as good as he used to be.!

I have seen some pluses and minuses so far from Borgen. More plus than minus but I do not like our defensive system in general. Too many things can go wrong. I'd prefer more positional hockey than guys following the puck so much.

One thing that has happened is that his role is different than what he was being used in Seattle. He's been used as a shutdown defender here. That is how he was used at first in Seattle and they gave him more of an offensive role this year and it didn't work for him.

When they mention his good traits, which is his skating, ability to exit the defensive zone, and being physical, he's really set for that role. If you play him differently, you lose value in what he is good at.

On top of this, his on-ice SV% still stinks, so even though the results have been solid, so there is room for his stats to get better.

My assumption at this point is to not judge these D-men too harshly based on the system. I think Fox and Miller are way too casual with the puck but the majority of the time they are doing what's expected of them. Injuries have sapped Lindgren of his strength. Feels like a Callahan situation where the team and front office loves his heart, but they also know an extension will be a posion pill.

Hopefully there's more to what he and Miller showed as a pair last night. I said earlier that the pair has a decent combination of skill and snarl. Borgen's a net positive. He's going to get beat a few times a game, though he doesn't make a lot of unforced or brain-cramp errors. His decision-making is mostly solid.

you're not a "trade miller at all costs" guy? man i lose track of everyone

I think he's been okay. I'd prefer they let him build his value and flip him at the TDL, but if they wanted to keep him on a reasonable, short deal I'd be okay with that. Strictly as a 6/7, assuming they overhaul the defense.

I'd say I'm a "listening on every K'Andre Miller trade" guy. I want it to work out preferably and until he's gone I'm rooting for him to be better. The Rangers dont have another guy who can play 24 minutes though thats for sure.

With guys like Mika and Miller their overall game needs to be like it was yesterday for me to live with their gaffes.
