Yes, he scored. Now let’s see if he keeps it up for a full year or hits another dry spell. The question is not if he can score. The question is whether he can do it consistently and be an impactful player. If he’s hot and cold like always, then the only question is whether they could have gotten better offers. Until proven otherwise, I am going to assume he is the same old same old.

Kakko has 1G and 15 shots in 9 games with about 2 more minutes of ice time per game. I don’t love the trade but it’s looking more and more like he is what he is.

You mean 3G, 4 assists, 17 shots in 10 games. His pace in Seattle would be 24 goals, 57 points. That would be 2nd (among forwards) with the Rangers after Panarin.

No, it's not like he has been absolutely lights out. But doing better than in New York, on a team that is not really that much better.

We'll see how it goes. Borgen has been a bit better than I expected, so at least that's not a total failure.

We all should be cheering for him. Glad to see him continue to grow. I hope Borgen fetches something more than a 3rd and a 6th to make this trade more palatable. Borgen has been nice but unless he signs a cap friendly number to be a bottom pair guy, he's just blocking Schneider from playing in the top 4 like he should be atm.

Hockey reference didn't have today's games in his stats. Missed that.

He had 7 points in the first 10 games of this season. Everyone take a breath. Also, points schmoints.

Of course he is breaking out on the Kraken. This is what happens when the Rangers cator to the vets and don't give the youth the proper time to develop properly. If I'm Perreault and see this I'll stay in college and become an UFA. Why take a chance of ruining your career. I think the only way the Rangers fix this is if the future prospects just refuse to sign with the Rangers. To be honest I hope this happens so it would force the Rangers to change things.

You basically have 3 modes

This, complain about a late round pick who didn't make it or yell at scouts who haven't been employed by the organization for a decade.

Also for everyone losing their shit over this...

Kakko had 7 points in 9 games....

THIS YEAR WITH THE RANGERS.

Hes done this before. I'm one of the few who wishes him well and thinks that he was really done a disservice by all 3 of his HC's here but he hasn't necessarily found or figured anything out yet just bc he's put up a few points.

Kakko will continue to do what Kakko has done the last five years. Which is be a decent third liner.

Its funny bc in trades, it seems you want to come out on the winning end, but in this case, i think we want both teams to win this trade. Meaning, Kakko elevates his play as he was expected, and Borgen elevates his game as well.
