I was wondering if that was going to be Diablo 3 Tyrael guy (the meteor dude), but I don't think it will be.

Sadly, TB is destined to be some weird forest dude enigma forever. Spinoff idea I guess, some sort of "alone" themed LOTR survival show with TB and goldberry living in the forest by the river.

I am fully positive I know who Meteor Dude is and while it's a big change from the books I'm very on board with it.

Haha yea, Star Wars, member berries, so much member berries.

Im enjoying ROP just fine. (The harfoots are kinda member berries though, dont see how they fit the elf/man/Sauron plot). Hardcores are bent though, I wonder if they will abandon it and it will survive on casuals alone (for it's absurd cost). It's CERTAINLY no GOT level drama, but it doesn't have that kind of political intrigue.

I'm pretty hardcore and I've pretty much abadonded it already. I watched the first two episodes and part of the third. It just doesn't interest me. It's fan fiction written by professional screenwriters. I may check in again when the season is over and see if it's worth binging over a weekend or so but at this point it's not something that I expect to watch every week.

so far the only story out of RoP i have enjoyed fully was the Elrond and Durin one

Galadriel is kind of meh ..its like she is an angsty teen elf thing going on

The Harfoots have been hit or miss

and the Southlands story kind of misses for some reason for me

so is the stranger supposed to be Gandolf...that's the popular theory..but also supposedly too soon for him to be there
Probably, because member gandalf? (This would be dumb).

Since they are playing fast and loose with the timeline already, it's probably gandalf.

FWIW it's not supposedly to soon. It is too soon. Gandalf doesn't appear for 1k years after Isildur cuts the ring off Saurons finger.

Also he doesn’t fall from the sky, he sails from Valinor and arrives at the Grey Havens but details, details…

Maybe it’s David Bowie.

what tower is dude getting Elrond to help him build?
It's likely part of Ost-In-Edhil an elvish community of skilled crafters that Celebrimbor formed and established somewhat close to Moria (where the Dwarves featured currently are). They eventually constructed a road leading directly from it to the Western Gate of Moria (which Celebrimbor inscribed with runes done in Ithildin which was a manipulated form of Mithril that the elven crafters developed).

This is the gate from the movie. I think Ost-In-Edhil became ruins by then.

first 3 episodes were solid ..not in the normal vein of SW...could have done without the flashbacks but expected now

the corp dude and his cronies didn't much think their plan through lol he should have left well enough alone

I haven't started watching this series and I probably won't. I'm more a casual, but I love the original Peter Jackson trilogy and rewatch it every other year. I just know no LOTR TV show will ever live up to that, so I would end up disappointed no matter what.
Obviously, the mixed to bad reviews haven't persuaded me otherwise. The cynic in me enjoys seeing the bad revies though because the moment I saw Amazon gloating about how expensive this show was I knew this was just a cash grab.

The backstory could have been a two sentence blurb but at least it wasn’t its own two episodes.

I think the corpo’s did plan to the best of their experience, they had several teams set up to manage different aspects of escape and seemed generally prepared. In this setting though I think the general population has been cowed by the sight of the uniforms for so long they corpos we’re not expecting any resistance behind a runner.

A cash grab is absolutely what it is.

Apparently he signed an agreement with Disney to allow for the continued use and artificial implementation of his voice and the archive of recordings done... but will no longer record anything live again.

Andor has been a real surprise to me..like..the writers decided to strip everything Star Wars out of it in a sense and just ..ya know..wrote a good story that just so happens to be set in the SW universe
