Going to be a great series.

It's usually the dregs of the team boards that run off to drop their "knowledge" on the mains. I expect to see a parade of obnoxious idiots there.

Yeah- every team has its ultra homers. Definitely going to great! General consensus on the street is anxiousness but in a good way. As mentioned, most fans know this is going to be a tough series. I’m thinking fans of both teams will need some aspirin after every game…and loving it!!

I’m an Oilers fan. I post on the Oilers board. No one the board thinks Oilers are going to run over the Panthers. None. Nobody in the Oilers local media thinks Oilers are going to run the panthers over. Most Oilers fans think this will be a long series and is a coin flip.

Also, just like to add, Edmonton fans are ranked as one of the warmest. Other Canadian fan bases hate us because oh the Oilers history of knocking them out of the playoffs. Vancouver Canuck fans are still calling into our local radio shows and trolling.

I just came here to say it’s going to be a great series and we are looking forward to it.

Essentially. Most of the posters on HFOil avoid the mains like the plague. Someone on here posted something from an “oilers fan”…never seen him post on HFOil- have no clue who he is and I’ve been on this forum since 2004

All over the mains they are. When attitudes come out, so does mine. Someone’s cool, so am I. Appreciate the sentiments. Will be a good series.

yeah- not sure who those posters are. I am confident in saying that if you come to HFOil respectfully and ask questions- 98% of the posters will be happy to answer and wish you guys luck.

There seems to be a similar sentiment with the Oilers. We read it every day- the fanbase sucks (we lived through the decade of darkness and still sold out the building), the team is a 2 player team and sucks, McDavid hasn’t proven anything- so I totally understand and feel your pain. Winning always changes everything

I just came in here to say that I am looking forward to a great series. It’s going to be hard fought and I’m sure to have an ulcer at the end of it. If you want to know about our team- just ask. Also- regular posters on HFOIl don’t post on the mains- so whoever is saying we are cocky on the mains is flat out lying. Either that or it isn’t Oilers fans. We respect our boards and those of other teams.

Looking forward to the finals- it’s going to be great!

Yes, we were the most penalized team in the regular season.

Yes, we have the most PIM this playoffs too. but about that. Do people forget a lot of that came Game 2 against Boston? lol

207 of our PIM's came from 80 game misconducts and 1 fight lol

We commit 3.5 minor's a game, that isnt so egregious compared to everyone else.

My apologies if true. As mentioned before- you see a lot of posts by folks who don’t even post on HFOil. For true representation- please come to our boards respectfully and we would love to interact. I’d avoid after a loss as emotions tend to run high…lol

This is going to be a longggg week…and even longer when the games start. Going against the best player in the world and arguably the 2nd-4th best in draisaitl. Best center depth, Henrique was an incredible add that I really wanted. Ekholm and Bouchard on D. That PP. Hell, their PK too. We’ve seen plenty of times it seems where a team struggles hard early on, fires the coach, bring in a new guy who installs a new style and the team goes all the way and wins. Top offense in the league, you have the best player in the game who will go all out. Just a lot of things. Im just nervous but will try my best to hold it together, expect nothing, just enjoy the moment and hope for the best. That’s all we can do until it’s over

I love playing arguably the most dynamic prolific player in Hockey. This sets up well for national interest. The fore checking giants of hockey get to test their prowess to the highest degree.

Yahoo sports likes the Cats in 7 but that is way too close for me. However it shows the pundits like this group from Edmonton. Scary exciting exhilarating quite the story as it builds and builds.

Last year we were egregious because we needed to drag teams down to our level. Let's face it. We weren't that great. We were outshot and outchanced and we won a muddy game.

Vegas didn't bite, we were injured, yes, but we probably still would have lost. Vegas read the book and kept the game at their level. We could not rise to meet it.
