Not sure how that's a penalty on Tkachuk, Eichel lost his balance before the hit and it was blatantly obvious upon replay.
he didn’t get a penalty for the hit. He got it for the stuff after.
Yep, 2 for roughing (though the Knights player probably should have gotten an extra 2) and 10 because it's a 4-0 game and the refs don't want things to escalate further.

are people really defending the Tkachuk hit? I thought the hit was ok but it was charging IMO
I would like to see another replay it did feel like a charge and it looked worse because Eichel caught off guard.

I really think Tkachuk and Barb got removed to try to create some peace.

I don't think a 10 minute is needed.

Was Eichel screaming as he left the ice or just trying to get a dislocated jaw back into position? He was making some very odd facial motions.
I saw that, too. I worried he had a pinch in his neck and had no feeling on the one side. He may have just been in pain.

It was a clean hit but when a player has had as many neck problems as Eichel, it is sickening to see.

It was legal, but still a dirty hit. Tkachuk knew the game is over
I mean, I'm 100% behind Vegas but there's nothing wrong with the hit. Open ice, lined him up, adjusted his angle to not hit the head as Eichel was getting lower. If anything I'd say that's a good educational clip on how to deliver a clean open ice check and adjust prior to delivery when you see your opponent getting lower. Which certainly, many players don't.

I really don't understand that penalty, We are now penalizing clean open ice hits?:help:

There was no penalty for the hit.

It was all for post-hit scrum stuff.

That was a good hockey hit and this is a clown show. I guess it's fitting, since you get a $10 steak dinner with it.

As someone who's always calling for stronger suspension to eradicate head shots from hockey, I agree this wasn't a penalty. Tkachuk cannot be blamed for Eichel stumbling at the last second. Eichel was a legit target for a clean hit since he was the puck carrier. I want to eliminate every dangerous hit from hockey, but this isn't one of them.

I think he had something wrong with his shoulder or arm. Just my guess based on one view

I thought he was just trying to get off because his helmet was knocked off, but I'm also 10 beer deep(and counting) so I'm probably not the best person to chime in.

It was coming, Florida wasn't going to let that hit on Gudas go unchecked. Vegas took him out and now Florida took out Eichel.
