Rangers worry me sometimes with their dirtiness, and thats with Carcillo out of the lineup. Taking out Price in the Montreal series seemed to work for them, I'm hoping they don't have the same mentality against us.

Loved watching Greene bury Kreider!!!

Rangers were struggling to get chances in the offensive zone. 3 shots in the 3rd in a tie game? Almost laughable after trying to defend the Hawks. Button up the breakaways and the Kings can completely shut this down.

Of course there's a bounce that leaves Williams wide open in front of the net. Regular season Williams is forever now.

Whoops, meant to include him as part of the Kopitar line. Carter started the period on the PP with Kopitar and Gaborik and also skated another shift with those two, as did Toffoli. Carter was on the ice with Kopitar and Gaborik before they changed and on the next shift it was the Richards line that scored the game winning OT goal.

We definitely have that ability.

My observations: we dominated this game after that horrid first period. This team has absolutely nothing on the Sharks, Ducks, or Blackhawks. NOTHING. Power Ranger Fan is absolutely, totally delusional, but I don't care about their fans.

All we have to do is give back the power plays. I don't think we will be surprised again at the Rangers' offensive aggressiveness on their PK. They shot their wad, and got a shorty out of three absolute gold chances...pretty sure Sutter will address this deficiency before Saturday.

If we clean up our issues, we got this. I am confident. Just keep pushing.

Well, that's just it, we all know this. After playing the sharx, dux and hawx, playing the rangers seems rather ho-hum. Rangers, even with Lundy are not the same caliber team as our previous opponents. So, as long as our boys can come out with intensity, and play the way we're capable of playing, there's no reason we shouldn't win.

We know this. They don't.

I couldn't get a clear view of the replay to see if it was a butt-end or not but if it was that's as chicken**** and dirty a play in hockey as a slewfoot or a spear to me. Can't believe the refs watched that and let it go, even if it was just a random, unnecessary punch to the head.

I can't help but think the refs were giving Doughty some payback for mouthing off, though. Hope they forget it by next game, because I don't like the idea that they'll let Brassard re-enact Platoon but call Doughty for a dive.

Went into this series thinking the Rangers offense was speed and little else, tonight did nothing to change that. Lundqvist is going to have to be even better for the Rangers to have a chance

Doughty getting a diving penalty while Brassard got nothing is ridiculous. Brassards pirouette was absurd. And not to be a total homer, but NYR have played a bit dirty all playoffs long.

he was pretty ****ing solid tonight and he made it look easy. im not discounting the skaters, but its not a surprise that they made it this far with him in net. dude is on another level

Lundqvist has already been chased by both the Pens and the Habs. So, he's human for sure.

What was the deal with the reporter asking the stupid ass questions about the fan not being loud enough?

Had to be a NY d-bag trying to get a reaction. Absolutely loved Tofu's non-reaction.

Kind of bummed to see so many people ripping Slava tonight. He had an off game but jeez. We just won game 1 of the SCF. Do we really need 4 pages of negativity?

same feelings here. can't imagine rangers winning 4 out of 6 against "normal" lak. though i'm a bit afraid of the next game, i don't want rangers to experience the joy of life again. game 2 is huge.

I think Patrick Oneil called him out on the air afterwards. He asked Clifford too, and Cliffy just gave him that look back like... really?

Yes. Why not 2 wins? Or 3?

He was good tonight, but made a ton of easy saves. The Kings had a lot of shots, but not very many quality scoring chances. Quick outplayed Lundqvist tonight

That was probably the most frustrating win for me all playoffs. I mean its nice, but if they wanna win this thing they've gotta play better. Like someone said, at least the guys acknowledged that and will hopefully work on it. I'm really hoping Slava and Kopi take a look and realize they've gotta be stronger on the puck and stop giving it away.

The Kings have conditioned me this post season to expect that the other team will score first, and this series seems no different. I was definitely ****ing pissed after the 1st period, but then I remembered that being down by 2 is pretty much the norm for them at this point and that they'd stage some sort of comeback.

LOL I decided to read the comments on the article about the game on TSN.Ca, this one had me laughing my as$ off...

That game was like a party that you were too tired to want to go to, but by the time you left, you thought, 'Well, that was fun!'

I said it on the main boards, but this series is going to play out very similarly to the Coyotes series in 2012. The Rangers simply don't have the horses to go toe to toe with the Kings, so they'll rely on incredible goaltending and opportune moments to win games.

All the Kings have to do is manage the puck and make the simple play and the Rags will simply wear down as the game goes along. This was a perfect example of Kings hockey to the uninitiated east tonight. Bend but don't break to the energetic start, then let the ground and pound board/cycle game wear your opponents down to the point they have nothing left.

Also like the Yotes series, the Rangers will get frustrated and take dumb penalties as the series goes along. Vigneault knows what he's up against - you could tell in his post game presser.

Get a good couple days rest and bring the pain in game two. We got this.

Were you there in the same section? You know the five or so a-holes I am talking about? They were sitting about three or four rows above me, in row 13 or so.

Yeah, I've been in 301 row 5 for the last 12 years. Can't say I've noticed those guys before, but I heard them tonight. All I could think of was "Just wait, asshats. Game 1, Period 1..." BAM!

So disappointed the NBC Network (should just be renamed to the NYC Network) didn't cut to Bryant Park to show the Rangers fans' reactions after Williams scored the game winner.

And my God, the verbal ******** Pierre was performing on Ryan McDonagh was cringe worthy to listen to.
