Also watching the replay, it just occurred to me. If we win this series, we will have, in the Stanley Cup Final, pimpslapped the last two major UFA's that snubbed us in Kovalchuk and Ricahrds. I want to win even more now... ;)

Oh man, reading the reactions of the game from Rangers' rivals boards is hilarious. They REALLY hate the Rangers around those parts.

Ooohh nice observation. Vengeance will be sweet.

Yeah, I've been in 301 row 5 for the last 12 years. Can't say I've noticed those guys before, but I heard them tonight. All I could think of was "Just wait, asshats. Game 1, Period 1..." BAM!

I turned around and told them to shut up. My friend was more vocal. Even the a-hole Ranger fan in front of me told them to shut up.

There were five or six of them, but only one was a real ****-up. I think one of his friends told him to shut up after he got loose on the opening videos, because didn't hear him again until the third period.

I'm sure some STH sold those tickets to those a-holes. It's a shame that happens, but I understand it more now due to costs of the tickets. I myself am playing musical chairs with the tickets but was pleased to look across at 112 and notice my two tickets went to Kings fans (lol).

Anyway, the money I am making these two games are helping me defer my monthly costs for season tickets next season, which are approaching $1,000 per month. I am sitting in section 318 for game 2, which ironically were where my tickets were last season.

They were complaining about the ice.
But this is the first time this year they have lost a game 1. Yes they went down 3-1 in a series and came back but they have gotten game 1 in every series. Will be interesting to see how they react to this. We played like crap in the first, picked it up some in the second and came on strong in the third. I kind of blame these early start times. The third was starting about our normal start time.

Worst first period we've had all post-season long and still we came back to win.

The Rangers just don't have it. Outside of all the Hagelin breakaways (and the Pouliot one), I didn't see much from the Rangers. Someone earlier compared them to Phoenix. Well, at least Phoenix had a fore-check. I didn't see anything from NYR tonight in that department.

Nash was awful. And St. Louis was as invisible as Kopi. I just don't think the Rangers have enough...outside of Lundqvist, who had another great evening, I just don't see it.

Someone educate me on the Rangers, please. I was really interested to see how well they played tonight, in different situations, on the PP, on the PK, and 4 on 4. Got to see all of it. I'm not impressed, other than I think their PK is really good (and I am not talking about the short-handed goal or the additional chances they had).

It's funny reading so many Rangers fans moaning over "bad ice" when their arena is known to be among the worst ice surfaces in the league. They really shouldn't be talking.

What do you expect? All other fans do is make excuses. When this series is over they'll still be making excuses. Just like San Jose, Anaheim, and to a lessor extent, Chicago.

The Kings are gonna smoke the Rangers game two. They remind of The Blues except with better speed.

They have all the speed in the world, but no finishers. If any of the Hawks got those chances they got today, they would have lit Quick up. They have blues syndrome.

Solid defense
Offense lacking skill.

Kings need to respect the speed of the Rangers better and prepare for it, which they will, and the Kings will capitalize on their chances because we have the skills too. I don't think the Rangers have a chance once we adjust to their speed. For God's sake, their first goal was on a break away, and their second goal was by Voynov. When we adjust to their speed, we will win with our superior offense scoring.

Quick was very solid today, can't blame him on either goal, but it just shows how much they lack top end skill compared to our previous series. If Kane got any of their good chances he would have scored like two goals.

Good team, no finishers.

It's hilarious (and by that I mean maddening) to watch that and realize that he didn't get an embellishment penalty and Doughty did.
Oh well, part of the sport I guess. As they say, for good teams bad reffing is a challenge, for bad teams it is an excuse.

Kings were tired, it showed. Rangers came out with blazing speed and took it to the Kings so give them credit for creating those chances. But they scored on plays that the Kings typically don't make. I thought Lundqvist lived up to the hype. You can only stop so many chances and that last turnover was obviously a back breaker. I feel like a lot of people aren't giving the Rangers any credit. They're a good team and I think they can exploit the Kings d with their speed but none of their players seem to have that killer instinct to score. They were in desperation mode from the get go throwing pucks from behind the goal line just praying for a bounce. If that is all they got, they are in trouble. Still a long way to go but encouraging to see them come back again and really take it to them. Lundqvist will only be able to stop so much and their guys are probably gonna get worn down from the physical stuff. I guess we'll see.

Someone just posted this on facebook. Apparently being sold at Target. I'm sure Brad Doty and Anze Kopidor would approve. :shakehead :help:
