You guys think we see any adjustments with the lines or does Sutter go back to his regular looking lineup?

I think it was stay the same, with focus in practice on the the Power Play. Rangers kept us outside the dots and challenged us at the points which almost cost us the game. Quicker passing and movement, and for X*$@#&$ sake, get someone in front of the net.

Mitchell was great tonight. So were Clifford, Carter, and of course Williams with the huge play at the end. Kopitar needs to spend the next two days in a hyperbaric chamber. Guy was skating like he had Zucarello in his pants all game, for the second game in a row. And Voynov.... A parking cone tied to Willie Mitchell on the end of a 10 foot rope would be more effective.

Anyway, great win. The Rangers, with 6 days rest and an own goal by us still couldn't win the game. They're ****ed.

Oh, and Ron: How sweet was that ****. Those *******s in 301 thought the game was over after the first period... LAWL.

Without a doubt, Mitchell was the best Kings dman on the ice, and I thought even Greene had a strong game. Doughty had his moments, good and bad. Martinez played a decent game, but Muzzin and Voynov were scary quite a few times tonight with their pinches and bobbling pucks.

Funny how the older and slower guys had an easier time adjusting to the Rangers' speed.

God, tonight was beautiful :yo:

Just gonna post that as evidence any time someone questions me to quantify how Doughty is more dynamic than McDonagh.

Love that everything came to pass tonight. Quick outplayed Lundqvist, the Rangers D didn't do much, honestly we played like garbage until the third, made adjustments, and smoked them the rest of the way.

Hank is as steady as they come but that's it. Incapable of making the big save, totally capable of volume. Ryan Miller in Buffalo became Swedish and moved to MSG.

Probably two periods of our worst effort and all they could muster was a breakaway snipe and a Voynov own goal.

It's one game, but I'm going to be smug as hell, because this is exactly how I said it would unfold. Plenty of time to play, obviously, but days of getting "Rangers D is unstoppable" "Good luck scoring on Hank, you haven't faced a real goalie yet" the multiple articles and fans trumpeting Lundqvist as swedish jesus and quick his leper companion, Dan Girardi being better than anyone on our D not named DOughty...this is all a huge ***** slap of humble pie and sure a lot of it can turn around as soon as next game but I'm damn sure going to revel in this until Saturday.

You guys think we see any adjustments with the lines or does Sutter go back to his regular looking lineup?

I think it will be the same lines that ended the game. And that is ok by me.

Even though it wasn't their fault on the goal they were on for, I think DS is finally done with 13/10/22 as a line, just to terrible defensively to keep putting out there. All three were much better in the different roles.

This game was almost like a carbon copy of Game 2 vs. Chicago, but without all the goals in the 3rd.

Pleased to hear these guys weren't happy with their play because they only played well for about half the game. Too many mental breakdowns and guys running around out of position way too much.

Glad to see that they have two days off until the next game, enough time to adjust, reset and recharge those batteries. Would like to see a better start and better execution on breakouts and outlet passes.

They finally got back to their possession game in the 3rd, but once the Rangers got a chance they were of high quality, and Quick bailed them out on more than a few occasions.

The PP also has to be a lot smarter and less cute. Can't believe the Kings got outshot on their PP chances, but I knew heading in the Rangers PK would be dangerous. Guess the Kings didn't get that memo...

Game 2 I want to see the Kings make a statement with their puck possession, execution, and physical play. The Rangers are going to come out flying, so they better be prepared for a battle on Saturday.

High five to both, great posts.

I was very impressed with the Rangers game plan, at least to start. They're very disciplined. And you can tell they're buying what AV is selling, that whole first period they were trying lots of lateral behind-the-net stuff trying to capitalize on Quick's aggressiveness with that as well as bad angle shots. Their PK was obviously meant to take away the point shot (smart since Hank plays so deep). They played fast and physical, with the jump that rest can give you...then they mostly wore out. Cheers to our guys, especially the clearly tired and injured, for fighting on and taking over when it counted.

I still can't imagine two more different goalie styles, haha. Such polar opposites of one another.

Great post. Internet high five!

The last time the Kings won a playoff overtime game at home was May 6, 2001 vs. Colorado

#mindblown

I was at that game, right behind Roy when Muzz potted it. Was probably what made me decided to have season seats these last 12 years. Too bad we missed the playoffs like 8 straight years after that...

Oh, and one more LOL: Rick Nash... 372 grade A scoring chances... 0 points, 3 SOG, -1.

EL-OH-EL

There was a Ranger fan sitting in front of me, a real a-hole. His GF was a Kings fan and each time the Kings scored he would give her ****. I have no idea why she is with him (well, they are both ugly and fat, that might have something to do with it).

Anyway, I was laughing at Nash attempting to play hockey all night. Really riled the a-hole up. He gave me a couple of sideways looks. Ah, I don't care. **** that guy. LOL

Yep K76 you have remained very loyal to KC and have seen things in his game even when he struggled. Had to feel good watching him just flat out OWN Staal and catching the fastest skater the game has ever known in Hagelin.

KC had himself a game tonight for sure.

He makes plays like the Slava save more then he gets credit for Also a lot of great for checking plays in the offensive zone. For as little ice time as he get s he makes a lot of good solid plays that always goes unnoticed. It feels great to see him get praise. Also nice to see him score as i had him again in the poll which i think i moved into a tie for second :o shocking with the regular season start i had

Not satisfied, I want three more. Solid game. Quick looked sharp.

Were you there in the same section? You know the five or so a-holes I am talking about? They were sitting about three or four rows above me, in row 13 or so.

I thought Muzzin actually played well, sure he had some brain farts.

But he ended the night +2 5 Hits 3 SOG 3 BKS. Not bad. Muzzin also played 26 minutes WOW.

Surprisingly Willie Mitchell had the most giveaway's tonight.

He made so many changes, but from what we saw in OT, looked like he leaned towards these lines:

Gaborik-Kopitar-Carter/Toffoli
Pearson-Richards-Williams
King-Stoll-Brown

Clifford and Lewis had a very short shift in OT together with Toffoli.

In the 3rd Clifford was on the ice with Richards and Williams as well, and Lewis was on the ice with Stoll and Pearson.

Carter?

I would love nothing more than a 4 game sweep to shut up the EC, but I'll gladly take the win anyway I can get it.

We definitely have that ability.

My observations: we dominated this game after that horrid first period. This team has absolutely nothing on the Sharks, Ducks, or Blackhawks. NOTHING. Power Ranger Fan is absolutely, totally delusional, but I don't care about their fans.

All we have to do is give back the power plays. I don't think we will be surprised again at the Rangers' offensive aggressiveness on their PK. They shot their wad, and got a shorty out of three absolute gold chances...pretty sure Sutter will address this deficiency before Saturday.

If we clean up our issues, we got this. I am confident. Just keep pushing.
