Well, the Miami Herald’s resident hack is “contributing”So much time in between games, you'd think the NHL would have the media do interviews to drum up drama, controversy or just story lines in general.
All the other stuff aside, Bouchard is REALLY goodThis is an absolutely ridiculous post filled with ignorant takes and somebody who clearly hasn't watched the Oilers play this postseason. You're using one game, in which the Oilers turtled, as the basis of your inherently flawed argument. That's a big enough sample size to pin your arbitrary argument on but the other 5 games in the series aren't? The other 17 games the Oilers have played in the playoffs aren't? The Oilers are a structured team. Every metric bears this out. Your arbitrary takes are just that, not facts.
As for sustainability, the Oilers' PP has been sustainable for going on 3 years now. Another bad take for you. The Oilers' PK has 28 kills in a row. Sustainable enough. Skinner's play isn't sustainable? Because you say so? He was terrible last playoffs and horrible up until being yanked against Vancouver but has been playing great hockey since then. Not exceptional, just great. He's providing solid goaltending in combination with the Oilers' structured defensive game which is more than sustainable.
As for your take on Bouchard... it just garners an lol. Watch the guy play hockey before offering this foolishness in an attempt to tear down the Oilers and give them no credit whatsoever.
Yeh but the NHL doesn’t care about the fans, they care about their TV networks.I wish the NHL would see this thread and finally realize that they cannot give such a long break for the SC to begin. Saturday can’t come soon enough, dear lord.

As a Oiler fan who has lived in Manitoba my whole life, I could listen to this guy talk hockey all day.. The Jets were lucky to have him
At somebody who's had a "goaltending doesn't matter" shtick for almost ten years, Stuart Skinner is my hero.
A Skinner Cup would be the hope diamond of my collection.
Game 6 against the Stars and Game 1Well I atleast have some arguments to bring up. And the +/- reflects pretty well the difference between Florida and Edmonton defense.
I watched game 6 Edmonton vs Dallas and neither team really impressed me. Dallas looked a lot more energetic against Colorado and Vegas, and I guess that's the reason many, including me, thought they'd win the series against Oilers. That being said the Oilers looked just bad, they couldn't do anything 5v5 but turtle defense. Eventually that, a few goal posts and Skinner playing good was enough, but the Oilers got really lucky to win that one. You could argue that they were protecting the lead but it's not that, they we're hemmed into their own zone from the puck drop.
I don't think the Panthers have ran out of fuel at all, and are healthy, unlike the Stars, and if that group can dominate against Oilers 5v5 like they did in game 6, I wouldn't bet against the Panthers to be able to do much of the same.
panther fans acting like the oilers have a trouba to let them walk in the zone and get chances every period
cant wait, its going to be great
The Oilers are perfectly fine with either style of play. Will be interesting to see if the series gets greasy, and Florida wants to experiment with the Oilers PP.
Or they try what Dallas did and play soft, which goes away from their typical style.
Should be a great final !
Last year the Panthers had 10 days off before the SCF. Vegas didn't have nearly that many. This year at least the time off is about the same.
It’ll get greasy for sure. Tkachuk will try to hump someone in the scrum then try to get gloved in the face to draw a penalty. At completely random times too, he’ll just choose whenever. I expect some fireworks after dirty hits too from the Cats. I’m just glad my Oilers have seen this type of grease many times before in the form of the Flames. I expect a mature response from the Oilers though this time around. Will be interesting to see if the series gets greasy, and Florida wants to experiment with the Oilers PP.

As is often the case, this series will come down to special teams, which has been a major advantage for Florida through the first three series.
In the playoffs the Cats had very few penalties because they were smarter not softer. Will be interesting to see if the series gets greasy, and Florida wants to experiment with the Oilers PP.

It’s not a matter of intimidation it’s a mater of grit that wears you down over time. Its very calculated to frustrate you and at the same time the Cats can pepper you with a deceptive offensive game that sneaks up on you. Good luck Edmonton your going to need it.The Oilers are perfectly fine with either style of play.
One things for certain, the Panthers won't intimidate Edmonton
I'd love that: for entertainment value AND basically turning the series into a special teams matchup (advantage Oilers)It’ll get greasy for sure.
