Why is it that every Edmonton podcaster message poster etc etc has to keep repeating to themselves that we will be able to compete with Florida. Yet you don’t see Florida fans questioning anything. Answer: Because you think you can win while we know we are going to win………

Been watching a lot of the Cats hard forecheck. Kinda overrated TBH.

Which series last year took that much out of you?
the oilers thrive on hard forechecks cause they move the puck so well out of their own zone, its why dallas had to adjust their forecheck because the oilers suck in 2 forecheckers and come out 4v3 with ease

I have Florida in 7. I think the Panthers are going to be too much for Skinner. They have so many guys that go to the net hard and create chaos there, whereas Dallas I think stayed too much on the perimeter.

But this could go either way. Should be a really fun series.

It’s a strength of our D to escape pressure and make plays under pressure. One of the best in the League at it. Plus we have the size on the back end to absorb hits and still make plays, unlike the pushover NYR D core. I really think the effects of this hard forecheck are overstated and not enough credit is given to oilers for their ability to handle it .

See you guys have to try to convince us that you have a chance…all of you guys.
you would notice the same thing if you had watched the oilers play, but its ok we can all meet right back here after game 1 and discuss. just have a feeling it will be a conversation on what the panthers have to adjust to deal with the oilers. just like dallas

Well we have 4 pro sports teams and a soccer team with lionel Messy … you have one team. But when you come to our Arena you will see at least 20,000 fans and we are waiting……

Sure
ive been to your arena and the amount of fans dressed up like empty seats was amazing. must be the florida camo ive heard so much about.

Because every analyst has said we don't have a chance. Edmonton media is saying we can compete with Florida... it's not that deep. And also, what Florida fans? Lol...
And there he is! LoL
The brilliant and highly original fan joke. Bravo. Watch out for the worms in the fruit that you pick up and eat from the ground around the tree.

Have practice lines been released for the Panthers? Will it be the same lines coming out of NYR series?

Look at you, out here trying to convince everyone the Miami Marlins are a professional sports team. Can you call yourself a professional sports team when you get outdrawn by a highschool volleyball game?

Reality is going to hit you right in the face and you know it Oilers fans have your fun now you are scared and it’s obvious and when we wear you down you will blame the refs call us dirty but you are going to lose. Sorry
In all seriousness, I don't really care haha
Panthers are one of my favourite eastern teams so losing to them is a softer blow to take than many others.

Interesting fact that I am sure has been brought up - if Florida loses this series, they'll be the first team in 46 years to lose consecutive cup finals, when there were only 18 teams.

Based on my math, teams who are playing in the Cup finals that played in the final the prior year are a combined 16-3 since 1976.

I have actually been to a hockey game in Florida - it was against the Senators and let me tell you......the 500 fans in the building that night were electric........the fan cam literally had to go back to the same 4 people who were actually wearing jerseys for the big screen.

To be fair, that was before you guys had The Gustav Forsling so I am sure its just sellout after sellout now.

Also, at least spell Messi's name right before repping your City.

The crowds haven't been an issue there in years so might need to adjust focus to the team that actually plays there.

You guys are so full of it, it's actually unreal

Dallas was touted as the deepest team in the NHL before the Oilers beat them.

I can only imagine what your prediction was before that series started.

Also, when you have to bring up +/- to fit your argument, you don't have much of one.
Well I atleast have some arguments to bring up. And the +/- reflects pretty well the difference between Florida and Edmonton defense.

I watched game 6 Edmonton vs Dallas and neither team really impressed me. Dallas looked a lot more energetic against Colorado and Vegas, and I guess that's the reason many, including me, thought they'd win the series against Oilers. That being said the Oilers looked just bad, they couldn't do anything 5v5 but turtle defense. Eventually that, a few goal posts and Skinner playing good was enough, but the Oilers got really lucky to win that one. You could argue that they were protecting the lead but it's not that, they we're hemmed into their own zone from the puck drop.

I don't think the Panthers have ran out of fuel at all, and are healthy, unlike the Stars, and if that group can dominate against Oilers 5v5 like they did in game 6, I wouldn't bet against the Panthers to be able to do much of the same.

it would be a very Panther like thing if we were the first team in 46 years

1 game sample size is what you are basing your assessment of Oilers hockey on?

This has to be one of the most bizarre takes I’ve seen on here

What's so bizarre? - Fan dick measuring being cringey or that you can't blame fans from staying away from a horrible product?
