Been watching a lot of the Cats hard forecheck. Kinda overrated TBH.

Which series last year took that much out of you?
Guys picked up injures along the way, but the initial Boston comeback was tough, I think that’s when Ekblad busted his foot. I think we lost Luostarinen, 2nd round. Montours shoulder was early too, Tkachuks sternum I forget.

Last year we played a lot of desperate hockey and got dominated a lot without Bob Carolina would have for sure bounced us. This year we’ve stayed healthier and I think overall have played a better game.

Ahh the Bs. Could see that. Oilers also had their years of injured playoff runs too, and finally put an emphasis on staying healthy. Should be a good Cup finals, neither team is really hampered much and should be fine after this extended break.

I wonder who benefits more from the rest... If McDavid was playing through an injury and still put up 26 assists that should terrify the Panthers. Seemed like he was shooting a lot less than usual.

McDavid's been playing through something all season long. There's stretches where he seems to be his regular self but you can definitely tell something's been off with him this year when it comes to stickhandling and shooting.

Not sure the rest will change anything in this regard but just like in the Dallas series, I'm sure his sheer will to be a difference maker is going to assert itself more often than not.

Considering Kane took a late series injury in the Dallas and is an X-Factor for this series. I would say Oilers.

Other than that, it seems like both teams are relatively healthy. McD included, I’m not a huge believer in the theory that he’s injured.

As the regular season and playoff series go on and on.. I feel like McDavid is becoming better and better.
I truly believe he was sandbagging earlier, if he wasn't injured. But he was zipping along and dangling more in the Stars series than he did in the earlier series.

We may see his best work yet this final round.

There was a moment during Game 1 against the Stars with about six minutes left in the first overtime and the puck headed knto the Oilers' zone where I looked at the clock and thought, "who's out there? Oh, Brown, Carrick, and Janmark. Okay, good".

It took me about eighteen hours to actually process the feeling of that being my instinctive response to seeing the Oilers' fourth line out in a crucial moment in a crucial game. And I've been watching these guys game in and game out all year (okay, maybe not Carrick). I'm not going to fault other teams' fans who underestimate the Oilers' depth.

Barring Skinner getting smoked at Mario Kart all week and subsequently turning back into a pumpkin, this is going to be a fantastic, extremely tightly contested series.

Your joking right ?
Not at all both Reily and Marchsault made this comment in the summer. It was half the reason that the Oilers started so slowly. Vegas got into both the players and coaches heads. It eventually cost the coach his job. This isn’t talking shit at all it’s 100% legit right from the horses mouth.

For sure. And they Vegas rolled the Cats.
In the games we played Vegas This Year we beat Vegas. We had 3 starters out for the Cup last year and were a depleted team in general. Sorry Oilers we are healthy now …….In fact we beat you twice this year so get a grip…..
