Hmm, that's debatableWell I've got you beat by a few years.
LOL what? Going up 3-0, getting shelled in game 4, came out flat game 5, lost 5-1 game 6. Game 7 on home ice and Florida has dropped 3 straight, outscored 18-5 over the last 3 games. On top of all that, they blew it in the final last year and now could also blow a 3-0 series lead at home in front of their fans. Edmonton dug themselves a 3-0 hole and have been rocketing themselves out of it. If they lose it will be disappointing but not crushing like it would be for FLA.
meh, there was missed calls both ways. Particularly Bennetts late hit after the whistle before the Panthers first PP, missed high stick on Perry and Drai, and other oiler I can't remember.
Panthers clearly thought they were winning in 4 and lost focus. Haven't been good enough since game 4. Now it's a one game winner take all. Panthers need a massive shift in frame of mind that they might not have, while the Oilers just need to keep doing what they have been doing.
What about the weak/missed calls that have benefited Florida? Like the Barkov dive for example?
Maurice: "There's no way I would have challenged that."
Nah we're not. Florida is a hell of a club. I think most of us believe in this team, but I'd never go as far as expecting anything. Gotta EARN it first.Oh for sure Panthers fans would be more devastated in comparison, but at this point most Oilers fans are probably expecting to win, so a loss on Monday would still be pretty heartbreaking.
absolutely devastating for this oiler fan. and very possible it could happen.Oh for sure Panthers fans would be more devastated in comparison, but at this point most Oilers fans are probably expecting to win, so a loss on Monday would still be pretty heartbreaking.
Excellent point.6 games in and it feels like we havent had a game where both teams brought their A games at the same time. Maybe games 1 and 2 but we're starved for a back and forth affair, hope we get it this monday.
what about the leafs?Sure, and Rogers owns MLSE that is the name of the Oilers arena, so I guess mildly ironic when Leafs fans fill the building and chant Go Leafs Go.
Who cares right? Doesn't matter lol.
Fair.Nah we're not. Florida is a hell of a club. I think most of us believe in this team, but I'd never go as far as expecting anything. Gotta EARN it first.
Pardon?what about the leafs?
Edmonton was probably thinking it's close enough to take a shot, and worst case scenario, they ask their pk units to bail them out, who happen to be killing everything in sight.
Oilers leader and best player has fire in his eyes.what about the leafs?
all missed calls matter IMOI'm talking about something consequential. Both sides have gotten away with penalties all series, the standard has been all over the place within each game. Even tonight there's a slashing penalty called, then both sides proceeded to commit slashing penalties the rest of the game (by that standard).
I'm analyzing something consequential tonight, couple close too many men scenarios (after the bad miss last game) & Bennett clearly taken down on that goal.
Its a credit to EDM really, cause FLA needed a break to stay alive in the game with how EDM was defending & it went the other way. Doesn't mean it didn't happen or I can't analyze it. EDM still deserved the win I'm not saying otherwise.
Vancouver was the best coached team we've faced thus far. That series was like watching a chess game between the two. I think the Dallas series Edmonton adjusted and Dallas never really changed back in response. We are seeing much the same so far in this series, but game 7 means it's anyone's game. With the Oilers' performance in the Finals in mind, I feel like Vancouver was not too far from making it to the end. Demko and who knows?
Just to be devil's advocate, if the appeal failed and resulting Panthers PP succeeded and gave them a boost on the scoreboard and on the momentum chart, we all know damned well there would have been an uproar directed at Oilers coaching staff.Edmonton was probably thinking it's close enough to take a shot, and worst case scenario, they ask their pk units to bail them out, who happen to be killing everything in sight.
He coached a rangers game or two during one of the covid seasons when Quinn was sick. The team had it's two best games of the season when he was behind the bench. Like... it was night and day.I'm not that all familiar with his background. He kinda came out of nowhere for me.
