There's no chance Florida is winning game 7. They're mentally defeated. This is incredible. I hate the oilers but I have got to tip my hat to them and will gladly congratulate all of their fans here after they win The Stanley Cup. Also over the moon for our worm, Corey Perry. I hope he gets to hoist The Cup and solidify his place in the HHoF. See you guys on monday!

i think knoblauch is the story of the playoffs, and has been far and away the best coach in postseason to this point. hes outcoached the opposition in every series and has made numerous massive adjustments to take over in key moments. their checking game has become elite, and their obscene PK has to get some credit on the coaching front. i think if they keep up their massive special teams advantage and win ~2 games decisively 5on5, the oilers can take this in 6
If we're cashing in the checks we wrote at the start of the series, I'll come forward and say that I 100% called it. I didn't doubt the Oilers at all going into this. Knoblauch has been the difference and the adjustments he's made have made Florida look totally hopeless. This series has played out exactly like I thought it would other than Florida going up 3-0 at the start of it.

Unbelievable that this is going 7. Either the Panthers get it together and win their first cup, or the Oilers complete the historic comeback and we see the greatest collapse of an NHL team since 1942. Either way, the last hockey any of us will see until preseason in September. Always a sad day.
Don't even really think it's comparable to 1942.

I hate that the game is decided on an offside review where the puck+skate come into the zone at the same time.

Cat is out of the bag but in hindsight offside reviews have not been what many thought.

EDM takes it on Monday imo, they played phenomenal defensively tonight, if they do that again we will see history.
it was a 5-1 game

It wasn't decided on the offside call, and if you make that argument it was a) 100% offside and b) How mentally weak and unprepared are the Panthers?

Matt Tkachuk likes to talk trash - he better win this or he’s going to be hearing a lot of Tkachoker next season
Sincere question: did he actually include the word "guarantee"?
I never hunted down the real quote.
Just curious.

Panthers are going to be mentioned in EVERY Big 4 league playoff series that starts 3-0 from now until the end of time.

"The only teams to come back from 0-3 in the Big 4 sports leagues:"

1942 Toronto Maple Leafs over the Detroit Red Wings.
1975 New York Islanders over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
2004 Boston Red Sox over the New York Yankees.
2010 Philadelphia Flyers over the Boston Bruins.
2014 Los Angeles Kings over the San Jose Sharks.
2024 Edmonton Oilers over the Florida Panthers.

The incredible part about the Flyers was they were also down 0-3 in game 7 & still pulled it off

Basically the ultimate comeback of all comebacks

The pressure is on EDM to win the cup. I don´t think McDavid or Hyman can replicate a run like this.

Every psychologist will tell that nothing that has happened matters when the game starts on Monday. It´s about winning one board battle, winning one period and in the end winning one game. I hope FLA wins but I will also be happy to see Leon with the cup in Cologne. May the better team win.
McDavid can't replicate dominating the playoffs like he does in the regular season on way to a possible cup? X to doubt there.

As long as Skinner keeps doing what he's doing, EDM has a real solid chance. You would hate to see him collapse like Bob and they get blown out like 6-1 or something. I really hope McDavid comes out possessed. He got his team back in it, tonight the team played for him and now we see if McDavid and Co. can complete this insane comeback.
