You can’t be serious. The only reason the Oilers looked good in the first two periods was because they got away with absolute murder. Refs were on the Oilers side and they still couldn’t score.
I think it was fair both ways. I thought both the Bennett and Perry interference penalties were a tad on the ticky-tack side but on the whole the refs were OK

Cats will get outshot/out chanced this series, Bob will even the playing field. Edmonton is a better skating team, Florida has been playing teams running 2Cs in their top six for the last two months
Florida beat three amazing teams on their way to the cup final, including the Presidents' trophy winner. I really don't believe they think Edmonton is any better than the teams they already beat. Maurice has been exuding confidence all playoffs.

I think a lot of guys are interpreting this first game incorrectly. In hockey and team sports in general its a well known phrase that it tells a lot about a team if they win even when they play poorly.

Bob stole this one. Florida needs to play better defensively, they can't just rely on Bob to have a shutout every game.

be that as it may, when all the tears have dribbled into the beer, the Oilers still lost.

Yep. Exactly like game 6 of the western final. Post-game and all. Difference is this is game 1....now what are the teams responses

This game reminded me a lot of their sweep over Carolina last year. Oilers threw everything at Bob and by all rights should have at least been tied. Instead he just wipes everything out and you’re shaking your head losing in a shutout.

Last year the magic ran out when he hit the Finals. The fact that he’s still on this plane should be a bit scary for the Oilers. You don’t get a lot of time to knock him out of his zone, before the series slips away.

Completely disagree. I counted 8 missed calls on Florida. Many slashes to the hands and interference. 3 missed calls on Oilers.
Sounds like you should lace em up for the league!

My uncle is the same way after too many Molsons.

Either way, Bob won us this one full stop. We played well enough to basically hold on. We will need to be better if we want to win it all full stop.

A lot of shoulda coulda wouldas for Edm, dust it off and play the same way in game 2. Except you Darnell, grab a brain. Went through your wickets indeed. And too many shots went awry, it wasn’t all Bob. Zero puck luck too.

By generate more you actually mean generate less right? Florida scored less than all of LA, Van and Dallas at 5v5. The high flying Panthers were 26th in the league in 5v5 goals for this season.

It's incredible how the narrative around Florida here is they're some sort of offensive juggernaut lmao.

No I mean they generate more shorts in prior series then van, la or dallas so far in playoffs. Tonight they did not. But that should have been clear from my post. Generate does not mean generate goals, it means generate shots.
