Don't think the Oilers will win this one. Panthers just to good. I think the Oilers top guns are also exhausted.

The thing is: even if Draisaitl is not suspended, I don't think the Panthers will go after him much or try to injure anyone for revenge. The coaching staff will make sure that they focus on winning the game first and foremost, and potentially getting ejected + a 5 minute pk goes against that.

And rightly so. That's why the rulebook should be used to punish the players, not other players taking matters into their own hands.

(Heavy clean hits and some after the whistle shenanigans, maybe even an invitation to dance are a different thing tho)

There is a saying what goes around comes around. Dirty Oilers are putting McDavid in danger, he isn't injury prone.

drai at it again

its a suspension but knowing the nhl they probably wont. Only if barkov is out then they might suspend drai 1 game
but if barkov plays next game. Not even a fine

I agree. Its not strange at all Mcdavid and Drai sometimes play dirty and on edge idk why other players respect them so much they should play dirty back and im guessing if Barkov is out and it opens up Mcdavid n Drai not being shut down anymore then maybe Chucky or zbennett plays dirty back

But is it a foregone conclusion that Barkov is injured and gone ??

I mean it wont work like that, if Barkov is injured so is Draisaitl suspended. When "taking best player out" you have to use 4th liners

I really don't think so. It rarely rarely rarely ever happens because the refs go into games saying "we saw it, dont even try retaliating or you'll get ejected" to the locker room pregame.

Teams aren't willing to bury their team for a game in the playoffs for cheap paybacks.
Marchand actually openly spoke about that. Injuring other guys with purpose on playoffs like bennett did to marchand. It's the name of the game. They will do it if needed. Its only 5 min penalty and tou get the other teams top player out for the series. Its huge advantage but you might also shoot to your own leg. Draisaitl started the injury game. Its possible it will get ugly if Barkov is out.

For Draisaitl to take that kind of penalty with your team down by 1 with 7 minutes left was incredibly selfish and incredibly stupid. It clinched the game for Florida.

And Oilers fans, that was a clear cut penalty. He jumped high into the air and his elbow made contact with Barkov's jaw. That's a possible suspension any other time.

Oilers are done imo. Bobrovsky holding the Oilers to 1 goal in 2 games...

You’ve got to feel for Knoblauch. The guy seems like a solid coach. But imagine looking down your bench and seeing one solid pairing of Bouchard (terrible tonight) and Ekholm. And then a mish mash of Kulak, Broberg (has surprised but still a rookie), Nurse and Desharnais.

Edmonton looks done. Not just because they're down 0-2 but the way they lost. Games didn't look close, they look like they have nothing going offensively. Only way they even have a chance in this series is if their PP catch on fire again.

You’re up 2-0 in the Stanley Cup final. Play your game with the eye on the prize don’t be baited by the Oilers. After their stars could only hurt your team now and wake them up.
Yea, but if the chance presents itself.
Take it.
