Denis Potvin is an arrogant jerk off. I have met the guy many a times. Man he was on my mens league team and played against as well in the mid 90's. ugh, Not a very nice dude.

I can think of nothing worse than to play against a former pro athlete in a non
professional game, unless they know to tone it down. They got to be pros by having a seriousness and intensity about the game that few other people do and if they bring that to play against amateurs it just seems like a poor mix

Played against Murray Craven a lot, he just shut people down unless his team was trailing then he'd turn it on for a bit and try mount a comeback sometimes it worked.
 
Set the tone for the series boys! LGR. First Stanley Cup game since I was 5. Crazy, and I just got chills thinking about it. With the way sports is these days, (salary cap, getting more competitive) never take these games for granted. Enjoy the series everybody!!

IF you hear Potvin on radio, I swear he hate the Rangers. Every good things the Rangers do is irrelevant, he will ripe the Rangers every chance he gets. I hate the jerk off.
 
Have a feeling LA takes this in 6 or 7. The teams will split the first four.

Win or lose, this season was a hell of a ride and exorcized so many demons that have been plaguing this team in recent years. I'll be a proud fan either way. However, I'll be over the moon if we can win a Cup before our core gets older and our best players start to decline. Let's do this.

The only dumb thing is when he was doing radio in Florida or whatever and talked mad **** about the Rangers and it's like "dude you're calling games for the Panthers you don't have a lot of room to be smug here"

Also, I doubt Panthers fans care. That's a terrible job of catering to your audience.

Hockey is the one sport where you can play with tons of pro's. You're never going to shag flies with Derek Jeter or <pick a player>.They come to rent outs and play in various Beer/Mens Leagues. 99% of them are cool. There's a standing rule, you don't embarrass them, they won't embarrass you. It's not competitive at all to most of them.

Case in point, I played with so many that when I mention their names it isn't to brag. I am not a pro, never have been, never will be, I started at 16. I figure it's cool to relay stories in a personal manner.

Potvin didn't run you or anything of the sort. He was just a giant wet towel of arrogance.

The only Panthers radio I ever listened to was when Randy Moller did the CC, and that was very rare. Moller is actually pretty funny and seems cool. Hahahah I didn't need the radio to confirm that about Potvin.

It's weird. I'm feeling very little if any trepidation right now. I'm strangely confident....as if something really great is about to happen.

Can they really do this? Yes, I think they can.

For example, just last weekend John Persson of the Islanders came to play pick up roller hockey with my regular group of guys. He didn't think he was too big, or 'famous' to come and just play the game.

Best sport in the world, with the best athletes in the world!

I've seen this video times and times again. It sums up the turning point of this post season pretty well and its a masterpiece by CBC.
