One of the ancillary benefits of this Rangers Cup run is we have absolutely ruined the entire Spring for so many Icelander and Devil fans. If you need some comic relief, check out the Devil Stanley Cup thread - it is absolutely pure comedic gold!
There are about seven people in that thread who post over and over and over again, and series after series they first convince themselves why the 'Rags' will get destroyed, then as the series goes on they start to rationalize why they were wrong and why the Rangers were - pick one - lucky, cheating, beating horrible teams, etc.
They've actually resorted to calling the Eastern conference - THEIR OWN CONFERENCE WHERE THERE TEAM COULDN'T MAKE THE PLAYOFSS - the LEASTern conference. You can't make this stuff up.
If we do find a way to beat LA, some of their heads may literally explode!

I hate there GDT, it's ugly and has way to much going on. I thought it was going to be something hilarious like the Habs' last GDT with the drawings. That was amazing.
Not to mention their posts in that GDT are just as pathetic. Quite an uneducated bunch.

First game is everything, really want to take this game.
On the radio they were discussing team that wins first game in Cup series is going to take the series 77% of the time or something like that.
In addition I think we won all first games in each series so far so hopefully that trend continues.

Joe Torre used to say that in the playoffs the "odd" numbered games were the most important. That way you are never playing with a game behind in the series. Also that makes you champions.

Surreal feeling coming in here and seeing "Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals" First GDT EVER to have those words for the Rangers.
Game 1 is big, gotta get at least one in LA.
Hits, faceoffs, and special teams will be important tonight.
As always, managing the puck for the Rangers and playing a sound team defense will make them successful. Team speed is also a very big factor. Gotta get in on their defense and carry the play. If the Kings are still stuck in Hawks mode after that emotional series they need to jump on them. Shoot high glove and blocker on Quick.
Good luck men. LGR.

I find it interesting that people hype up the Kings beating all of these teams so much.
In their first series they were down 0-3 and came back to win 4-3
In their second series they won 2, lost 3, and then won 2.
In their third series they lost 1, won 3, lost 2, won 1.
Multiple times throughout the playoffs where they had a multiple game losing streak that brought them to the the brink of elimination.
Sure, it shows character that they were able to come back. However, I laugh when I read people saying that the kings "beat up" on those other teams. They barely made it out of all three of their rounds.
