Why not us?

I remember watching the Rangers erase a 3 goal lead to beat Boston at the end of the 2011 season and thinking, "This Boston team is good, but I don't see them winning the cup." I remember seeing L.A. struggling to score goals in 2012 and making the playoffs as an 8th seed that lost more games than they won. If you would have told me before the playoffs that they would win the cup that year, I wouldn't have believed you. It is not a fluke that we're here. This is something that has been building for 9 seasons. We've played 88 playoff games since the lockout. That's 5th most behind Detroit, Pittsburgh, San Jose/Boston, and Chicago in that order. All of those teams except San Jose have won a cup.

So why not us? Why not now? Let's do this.

LA might also seem like the safe pick and it seems so impressive that they've gotten to the finals while scoring goals and fighting through adversity...yet when you step back it still took them 21 games to get there. Three 7 game series. They almost blew a 3-1 lead to Chicago.

They're not a perfect team and it has taken a LOT for them to get to this point. Obviously the Rangers aren't a perfect team either and their route was also a difficult one, but obviously neither team dominated its way to the finals and neither team is a perfect juggernaut.

Go out there and get the Cup

Being hung outside MSG right now.

Do we hate any of those refs? I can never keep them straight

The only one who I thought did a good job in the last round was Watson. He got that Plekanec embellishment call right!

McCauley, O'Halloran, and Kozari are meh most of the time.

Driscoll was the linesman that Carcillo got mixed up with...

The refs who really sucked did not make it out of the last round, thankfully: Jackson, O'Rourke, and Joannette.

After re-watching the '94 run to the Cup it made me realize how much skill and luck, and overcoming adversity all come into play in winning the Finals. This Rangers team has all that going ATM and a far superior goaltender, so like a previous poster mentioned why not us? LGR!!!!
