Blue Jays Discussion: Save some runs for the other games, guys. (Jays score team record 28 runs in Friday night drubbing of Red Sox. Yes, that says 28. In one game)

the g.m preller that has won all the paper awards and trophies. but really hasn't had the production one would have liked big move after big move

big moves should mean improvement. the only time they have finished above 500 was the 60 game covid season. followed by a lackluster season last and then this season10 games over .500

this team was suppose to do what the yankees did at the start of the season. the padres starting rotation was suppose to be godly unstoppable and in the end has to be one of the biggest disappointments of a revamped rotation in a long time

would be funny if they got soto and got worse again
Something is off about that team. Normally in baseball you don't really have to worry about chemistry on the field and just collecting enough individual talent should help you win, but for some reason that just hasn't worked out there.

To be fair they got absolutely ravaged by injuries last year to the point they were trotting out a long past expired Jake Arrieta to start games for them because they had no other option.

They've been better than expected this year given they're missing their best bat and the rest of that lineup has regressed.

i get that injuries happen, however i just dont understand the credit this g.m preller gets and yet the same folks here shit all over atkins and shapiro (lets not forget the dirty he pulled during the pomaranz trade that got him suspended for 30 games)

random question if druw Jones blows out his shoulder prior to the draft instead of after how far down does he fall

San Diego has 3 top 100 prospects; Campusano, Harrell and Wood.

Gotta imagine at least two of the three go plus somebody off the major league roster (Grisham?) along with some lottery ticket types.

You gotta think a trade for Soto cleans them 100% out.

But in saying that we keep seeing teams like LA,SD, and NY be able to get sweetheart deals on top players.

That must be nice.

We are better off grabbing Bell and Castillo along with a pen arm.

Let’s not blow the wad on Soto

Let’s just assume Soto goes to the Padres, that not only wipes them out completely of their farm system but if they ever came down with a few injuries…they are only 3 games up on Philly for a WC spot. If they ever missed the playoffs with a roster like that wow!!! They’re pretty much at a point of WS or bust. Like I said a Soto trade wipes out their system completely so it’s go time for them.

And I agree with the Preller comments. Dude gets credit for having the guts to pull have major trades not for actual succcess.

Won't be upset at missing out on Soto at all. If Ohtani would to ever become available, I'd be pretty devastated not being able to acquire him.

personally i wouldn't trade teeds(has done nothing but show he could be part of the future) or martinez. (you don't trade that type of power)

moreno is a luxury and could get you a hell of a haul without disrupting the catcher pitcher dynamic. the only thing siding with moreno right now is jansens injury concerns maybe he starts wearing batting protection. its crazy we have 3 all star "caliber" catchers all ready within a few years of each other. somethings going to give might be this week might be next season but we are flush with talent in a premier position

If SD does that the next 2.5 years ( 3 title runs) better be W.S appearances at very very least. Their whole farm system gets blown up with that kind of prospect capital out the door
