No other confounding factors occurred during that time span (like, a certain terrible manager being fired on the exact day). But I love the narrative, especially when during the streak our team had a 3.45era with Jansen behind the plate versus a 1.75era with Kirk there (albeit in 73 innings to 36), and Jansen was slashing .180/.250/.360 in those games. It's my second favorite narrative after Jansen is somehow responsible for Kirk's success because "he allows him to rest." Never mind that Kirk's best month of the season was June when Jansen was injured and he played more games (.351/.451/635 7hr 13bb 11so), and he's hitting .320/.407/.488 on days he's catching versus .297/.365/.495 when he's DH'ing for the season.
