Wainwright's no quit and elite speed got us on the board, would have been nice to see him have 2 vet wingers all year. Good for him like to see it.

Only lost by 5. That's a win in my books lmao. Honestly 5on5 I did not mind their game. Only 3-1 there. PK was just disastrous as you'd sorta expect with O'Toole playing it & Filak playing it on D.
Hurt goes even again in a big loss. Just so fricken steady back there. Young was their best D tho. Assist, +1 in a ton ice. Low-key really liking O'Toole so far. He's gotta work on agility, decision making but I am loving his grit, physicality. He was going right at LDN Fs all night in his 2nd OHL game.
Appreciate the fight they played with. They went right back at 2 of LDNs toughest guys who are both OAs. For a young team that's how u start building a culture & tight locker room. Hopefully Fischer isn't out cause if he is we will not win another game lol.

Well this better be Filak's first and last game on D. He was on the ice for 5 of the 6 goals.
Also IMO it's becoming noticeable that some of the vet's have started to give up these last few games. Guys like Sikic and Way and Filak have just been floating these last few games. Also love seeing are guys stick up for each other. But why is it always are young guys doing it.

Older guys have done it all year meaning way! Sikic has checked out since deadline and didnt get traded. Think he has been OK and on a team where we need him to be the best player. 7 games left have to win 6 now that's all.
Surzycia few I thought he should have had, I always know by his reaction right after he knew he missed it.

I was too but honestly is it worth it with our defense right now? Idk if I want the kids first start to be behind a Jr B Dcore. Especially if Fischer can't go for a couple games. Be setting him up for disaster.
Fischer does need to cool it a bit but I love that he's sort of taking leadership of this defense. He's standing up for guys, taking no sh*t etc.
Great example to set for all the other young guys that our best Dman is doing it so we gotta too. But he does need to stop fighting so much. To important.
Also Fischer has hit the limit on fights. Tonight was number three on the season. Next fight he'll be suspended for 2 games
I see WSR lost in OT. So they now sit 6pts behind us so do the Petes. IMO WSR has 3 winnable games left and Petes have 4. Kinda hoping 1 or both can pass us in the standing.
Not a bad effort tonight. 6-1 was better than I expected. PK needs massive improvement. I understand that we're playing shorthanded but we're now 4/12 (33%) over the last three games. That can't happen. The defence did well at 5v5 only giving up three goals with Filak being out for all of them. I like the bite that O'Toole plays with. He's very physical but now they have to work on him being disciplined. That was quite the tilt between Hall and McCue. It's been a while since I've seen a fight that good. Nice goal by Wainwright on the breakaway. Good to see Sim get his first point since late November. Hopefully he can make more of an impact over the final 7 games. Finally a bit of a weaker opponent on Sunday with Kingston coming to town. Still not expecting too much with the limited roster

That's counting Cajkovic, MacDonald, Schwindt too. They've been fielding a team with an average age of around 17.4 - 17.5 in recent weeks.
A young F unit you can survive with at times. A young defense tho? Just way to hard. Fischer who's 17 is our most experienced Dman at 107 regular season games played. That's the lowest in the league for GP leader on D..next closest is Niagara who's leader has 147 GP. Only 2 teams with nobody above 150 GP on D.

I was thinking over these last 7 games. One guy I'd like to see get some more ice time is Sim. Thought last game was one of his better one had a good scoring chance plus an assist. Also was looking and 3 of his 5 points have come while playing with Wainwright. So that's a duo I'd like to see down the stretch. Also hoping to see Luecke down the stretch as well.

That was huge downfall for sting this season I really think DS needs to get us a top end OA- D to go with filak and doucette. We can't be loyal to our OAs next season If he doesn't will be more of the same next year.
No real difference to be honest with keeping filak, if he isn't going to play grit and tough hockey, he is far from an elite player needs to be used in a role that benefits team.
Also our PK whoever is in charge of that, needs to 180° and become dangerous, not safe, use speed guys like doucette and wainwright and brown to exploit pp cheating like london does. Pk = scoring chance. We play passive and clearly shows that's stupid coached hockey we are worst in league. Revamp it.
Pp we just need more experience and movement which equals confidence to become dangerous.
Mailett and chartier tandem whoever is hot plays compete for the crease. Surzycia doesnt give anything different IMO rather see a steadying OA D that can play and provide toughness and leadership than keep our OAs. Doucette will stay

Don't really get why Surzycia is starting. It's not like he's played great. Only thing I can think is that Letang is still dead set on playoffs and he thinks Surzycia is going to carry us there some how.

Just no fricken way.. Cajkovic just hurt himself the exact same way he did in OS. Going backwards taking a shot and his knee goes out. Loud F bomb going down the tunnel. Unbelievable.
It sucks to see Cajkovic go down again. This team just can't catch a break. It looks like Fischer's ice time is being limited a bit in this game too. I would love to see the lines mixed up even more in the second. Sikic is playing with absolutely zero energy. Looks like he's just out for a skate. If he doesn't want to play, don't let him. Put him on the fourth line and move someone up like Lominac, Sim, or Moses. Players who are actually playing with effort
No energy, no jam team looks defeated. Letang starts Surzycia yet again again not surprised Letang has no clue. Most overrated coach in league by far

Glad to see Wainwright back after that awkward hit he took. Would have been nice to see Sim cash in on that 2v1 with Lominac. I haven't always been Lominac and Sim's biggest fan but they've been the best players for the Sting today. Pretty boring period overall. Hopefully they can get one on the PP to start the third
