Not sure what happened to Wainwright this year came out after injury to start season has 23 pts in 13 games then slid and came back in early feb to go 8 in 4 games again and now cold, that entire combo of wainwright and Brown frostbite right now.
just expected to cover defensive role now, we need him to score.
Yah they've been a bit inconsistent. But it's a rookie & a guy in his 2nd season. Pretty bad leg injury to start the year too.

Full confidence he'll be a stud next year. Be given more TOI, PP, PK as well.

Only got to watch a bit of today's game but an obvious issue is the PK. It's absolutely horrendous. 1/4 today putting it down 72.5% which is 2nd worst in the league. Maybe switch it up and give some of the bigger younger guys like Doherty and Hall a chance.

The two shorties came at terrible times. Down 5-3, just failed to convert on a 5v3, and then you give up two straight shorties. That will be a dagger to any team.

On the positive side there were some nice plays made on all three goals. Beautiful pass by Young to Kostuch on the PP goal. Second goal was probably one of our prettiest of the year. Great stretch pass by Fischer to Kostuch who made a good feed over to Doucette who buried it. The Sikic goal was an underrated piece of hand-eye coordination.

The most interesting stat of the weekend was Hughston Hurt finishing with +/- 0 despite the team being outscored 14-4 at 5v5. He's been a stud defensively for this team all year

He's had one of the most impressive rookie years from a non top 3 round pick I can remember off the top of my head for this team.

Outside the first month he's played top-4, top PK, late game etc. since Christmas he's probably playing 20+ minutes a game if not 25+ some nights. Hasn't spent much time with Fischer either.

Somehow has the best +/- of all the D that have played 40+ games (impressively Barr was even on the year in 38 GP)..

I think he can be a real great Dman for this team. Idk if he'll ever produce a ton (do think he's got some untapped potential there) but I think he could become one of the league's better defenders as he matures. At 16 he's solid size, good skater, fearless, blocks shots, battles hard, wins battles & is pretty solid moving the puck & skating up with it.

I've been wrong before & I'll be wrong again but I think so fricken highly of Barr/Hurt/Fischer. Think those 3 could be one helluva trio back there for years to come. Not to mention Bridgewater who's got some real high end skills to be a lethal PT producer.

Add a exciting 16yr old in the OHL draft & an exciting F in the import draft to go with Wainwright, Brown, Kostuch, Doherty & next year's team could be a lot of fun to watch.

Will have doucette and filak as well and hopefully a limpar lantz or vilmanis type import to put in top 6.
OAs I worry, if DS stays loyal as per past years, Surzycia stays, it affects our chances of trading him for a OA D. A real steadying force on Backend which would be a really good peice to help development back there and give us stronger backend then, young and fischer don't have to play those roles all the time.

Most definitely. I'm not complaining we don't have one this year. It would take one helluva goalie to have a .900+ on any bottom 5 team let alone one with such a young defense.

Just more so hoping we can develop Chartier/Maillet/Gillis into one or get one eventually cause it's frustrating to always be iffy on your goaltending and we have been for 6-7 years.

Luckily haven't had atrocious goaltending like Erie per say, but not elite like other.
I disagree with this... we have had elite goaltending ... put either of our goalies on LDN SOO BRANT and they would be plus 900% Are they Carter Geroge... no. It's rare for Sarnia to give up under 30 shots a game with most of them being high quality scoring chances. give up 35 shots and let in 4 goals is a bad game on paper but great game if context is used. There is zero doubt in my mind we will have top goaltending in the league next year statistically.

Who are our goalies then? If we will have top goalies next year ?

Going into the year it will be the same two as this year.... I think the buzz are going to wait and see how the team is performing before pulling the trigger on a Syrzycia trade. Eventually a trade will be made imo and the reigns will be given to Chartier.

Seca announces Schwindt, Barr & MacDonald will not return this year.

Kai is out weeks if not months. Brutal way to end your Jr career. Enjoyed watching him. Always gave it 100%.

Barr was ready to return but has become sick & will not be able to return. Hopefully not mono or something like that. He was having such an awesome rookie year.

MacDonald is to undergo shoulder surgery soon. Brutal. Another local kid with 0 luck on this team.

Was this team gonna make it even if healthy? Probably not. But I do feel for them that they really didn't get a fair shot at it with all these injuries in 2024.

Really tough way for the season to end for those guys. The team deserved to at least have a playoff push but they didn't really even get that because of all the injuries. Only good thing to come out of this is Andersen and Bridgewater getting a taste of what the OHL is like

Wonder if we see Luecke again. Been with the team off & on. Wouldn't hate getting him in..I honestly liked what I saw quite a bit in his short stint.

Sunday vs KGN be a good time for Maillet to get a game in.

Still a shot, just have to win 5 of last games to give themselves a shot.
Can it happen? Well even the blowout games up north they played wome really good stretches just made some mistakes and against good teams that get magnified. Can they win 5? We will see
I still think miss, kingston, 2 flint games and saginaw game are all games play hard never know. Solid Goaltending and D and some pp goals and could surprise. But at end of day, I don't think luck is in on our side this year and we don't make it.
Sadly wasn't just wasnt enough OA strength in players to push night in night out. Just can't have that many 1st time players and compete constantly

I will be happy if they keep tonight's game within 6. No reinforcements coming. Gonna be a ridiculously inexperienced Dcore again. LDN probably pissed off with their recent play, especially a L at Gue this week.

Not gonna be a pretty one. Hopefully some of the young guys can keep up their good play

Disagree, London is going to try and bully after whistle just like in guelph game, hometown refs will let that go just hope Sting have response tonight maybe otoole, moses can show what they have to stick up for teamates.
Filak is due for a rough game and get into it and all rest hurt and young and Fisher need to hold their ground. Hoping for a motivated effort and boulton and sim from london dont get away with cheap after whistle stuff without repercussions.
We will have next couple years to push London around on score sheet, emotional close hardworking minimal mistakes effort would be ideal.
Set up with good effort for win on sunday.
Guelph beat them last game so why cant sting? HUGE effort form a tender and there is chance.

Lineup sheet has Sarnia with Filak on D & Cajkovic as a GTD (Seca mentioned he'd likely be back next week)

So good chance they are running 4D tonight, one of them being O'Toole in his 2nd OHL game & not even signed.

Joy.

Well 2-0 is better than I expected. Nice save by Surzycia on the penalty shot attempt by Gazizov. Be nice if we could get one the PP to start the second

That Fischer call was horrendous. Not that the outcome would be any different but last thing LDN needs is freebie PPs.

Not a great 3rd goal for Surzycia but he's under siege as expected.

Love O'Toole's snarl. He's laid some big hits on Beck in SSM and now Haltunnen.

How does Ficsher get the only penalty Julien punched him first.

Ehh he punched just a bit harder haha. Honestly this is FAR better than expected. If not for an iffy call for a PPG only be 2-0 & the 3rd wasn't a great goal for Surzycia.

Obviously struggling to generate but I expected that. Brown been our best F IMO. Really making things happen. Be nice if he could grab one in the 3rd.

Hall held his own man McCue has anger issues. Also no interference on Hall I guess.

Can we please take Filak off D he's been out there on 4 of the 5 goals.

Love Hall taking on McCue who's done it a whole lot more & is an OA. Definitely held his own. He'll be a beast when he's 18/19/20 in that department.

Love Fischer standing up to 6'6" Lawrence but man not the place with only 3 other D & because our luck is so awful right now he bashes his forehead off the ice & is bleeding bad.

If that's bad enough he won't be able to play Sunday.

But do love them standing up for themselves and each other. LDN isn't doing any wrong just nice to see for such a young team.
