Been looking at the other teams rosters in the conference the last few days & it's gonna be a tough, tough year to win. Obviously every year is hard but last year there were only two teams I ever thought had a chance (Flint, Windsor) to go all the way in the conference.

This year it's half the conference. Owen Sound looks really good, Flint is loaded, Kitchener has a ton of potential, Guelph looks rock solid & Windsor if Johnston gets sent back would have a good roster tho they may choose to sell to recoup picks., Then obviously we hope to challenge for it as well.

It's gonna be a war all year. I do give FLT, OS, KIT the edge up front. All three should be able to outscore pretty much everyone. All the teams have some really good depth. I think/hope our Dcore will be one of the better ones. Then our biggest claim to it would be Gaudreau. He's considerably better than any of those teams starters IMO.

We'll know pretty early if we should be excited or not, because our schedule is brutal. 14 of our opening 20 games are vs OS, FLT, GUE, WSR, KIT BAR, MISS (two of the favourites in the east).. If they do well in that stretch it'll do wonders for them because post-christmas their schedule is incredibly favourable.

Add Limpar-Lantz to the list of guys invited to main camp. Good for him! Should do him well to get even more acclimated to the smaller ice, NA style of play. I think he's a player who's just gonna get better & better as the year goes on.

Surprisingly, Voit is one who wasn't but it looks like the Leafs invited none of their non pro prospects.

Great for Limpar-Lantz. I get big time Hugo Leufvenius vibes from him. Hugo took a bit to get acclimated as we all know, The outcome for us was favorable. I can see the same outcome here.

No hill, lalkin, Voit, or the new guy Young. Very odd for them not to play Young to see what he has to offer. They only have 5 D dressed. Also makes me thing Lalkin is gone they only have 11 forwards dressed and he isn’t one of them. Hill could be on the move to. Unless those players are sitting because they are injured.

I'm not convinced he's better the Luc Chenard.

Sikic-Namestnikov-Harper
MacDonell-Wainwright-Martone
Doucette-Filak-McIntyre
Burke-Doherty

Daviault-Dillingham
Ritchie-Campbell
MacDonald

Surzycia starts.

Not expecting much from this one. Windsor is playing almost all their roster outside Johnston, Maggio & Sobolev. Is interesting no Young who's not even listed as a scratch for us. Seca did seem to imply he'd start elsewhere but figured he'd get in at least one of these games.

My only worry so far is the lack of chemistry we might have to start. Won't come anywhere near icing our regular lineup for any of the games & the 5 guys at camps are either gonna get back right before opening night, or just after. The one real negative to guys lasting at camps lol.

Assume you mean Nick Chenard? I'd have to respectfully disagree even though I do think Chenard is legit. Gaudreau is a 3rd round pick & on team Canada's radar for WJC. Was Canada's starter at U18s where he dominated & won MVP, gold.

Chenard to me is just a solid OHL goalie who you guys can definitely win with, especially considering FLT, KIT, GUE have relative unknowns in net. Gaudreau's upside, ceiling is dramatically higher & for the first time in his Sarnia tenure he won't have a garbage team in front of him.

The CHL should start 1 week later and play 6 pre season games instead of 4. That way 99% of the players are back with their junior teams and they get 2 games of pre season. Makes the first 5 games of the regular season less of a sloppy shit show.

The 2 week gap I was not a fan of. You start to get excited once August hits, camp starts & everyone is excited, hopeful then 2 weeks of absolute nothing. Just kills it lol.

Preferred the old way but understand the change. Coaches may like this more too. Get 2 weeks straight of teaching between games.

Windsor is streaming the game on Facebook. Not the greatest camera work, but still something. Skimmed thru the 1st. Looked like we played solid. Namestnikov really buzzing. Hit two cross bars, then nice assist on Burke goal. Seeing eye-shot for MacDonald's with Martone out front.

Daviault caught cheating for Peer's goal & Abraham's 2nd. Other goal was a rebound off a point shot. Namestnikov with another good play which leads to Filak shelfing a rebound on the backhand. 3-3. Weak one for Surzycia makes it 4-3. I think there's a sizeable gap between him & Grover. Lets in to many iffy goals & his rebound control isn't the greatest.

Hopefully Grover takes a stand Saturday night and secures that back up spot.

I feel like he has already secured it. Been the better goalie since day 1 of camp, all the scrimmages, vs London. To this point has looked like a legitimate backup.

Sick pass by Doucette to Filak who rips it past Downey. 4-4. Really strong game from Filak. Breakdown made it 5-4, then Burke with a beauty steal at the line sends him in all alone & he scores. 5-5.

For the 2nd time tonight Filak gets absolutely robbed by Downey. Both looked like sure fire goals. 2nd a nice pass by Doucette who's had a really strong 3rd PD.

OT (shootout) once again. Real solid game from the boys, especially in the 3rd.

Sarnia loses the skills competition once again. Doucette rang one off the bar in it. Wish they'd play 3on3. 1, more exciting & 2, be good practice for it compared to the SO. Overall tho really happy with that game.

Good back check by McIntyre in the final minute, glad the sting kept him we need that size. Surcyia got exposed on breakaways and in the shootout.

Carson Campbell is legit. He does not look out of place whatsoever. Letang had him with Ritchie & they played a ton. He's a great skater, has a good stick & has good offensive instincts. Gonna be a really good player in this league. Gonna be awfully tough to send him down, but MacDonald has also looked strong on the 3rd pair. Good problem to have at least.

That's what ur hearing? He'll be a great add for such a young team. Great mentor. Does all the little things right. Good on the PK, late game, sticks up for teammates & will produce a solid amount.
I had a feeling he was going to be traded when he wasn’t dressed yesterday and the sting only had 11 forwards in the lineup, also have a feeling lalkin could be traded or released. Soon

My Facebook feed wasn't the greatest and came in and out a lot. From what I saw:
The Filak line looked really good last night. I'd like to see them stay together, which won't happen when the others get back to camp.
I think there is no comparison between the 2 backup goalies. Grover is easily the winner.
Daviault is regressing by the day. He doesn't look like he even tries sometimes. Yet he gets a ton of ice for some bizarre reason.
I thought Dillingham had a lot of jump and looks a bit better offensively.
Need the big guns back and this team will be a contender. Should be a great year.

Have you watched him played? Seems abit steep for an 18 year old who hasn’t done anything in this league and is only 5’10. I hope this wasn’t just a trade to get another local kid on the roster. Not what this league is about.
I have. Limited minutes last season. Absolutely overpay IMO. When you're that height you need a strong skillset which I believe he doesn't have. But as our GM said, he's had a chance to play home.
