Still wondering why Ben & Del Mastro didn’t play today… Bedard back in the line up for Regina with a mere 3 even strength goals, a shorty & 2 assists lol
Yah he's okay.. I guess.. Del Mastro was in Toronto last night being celebrated at the Leafs game. With it being a decent drive they probably said don't worry about it.

Ben I was a bit surprised but maybe they are thinking like us & wanna give Gaudreau a break to reset/refocus. So some extra days to hang out with his family before getting back in there l

🤣 yeah I guess you’re right he’s ok lol
But yeah I was surprised with Ben as well not in the lineup today.

Another player I do wonder about with Sarnia is a player like Stuart Rolofs.

Great size. Feel like Tanger can get him to play with in his size. Depth piece but a perfect 3rd liner who you'd have return next season.

Could be had for a fairly reasonable price. DOn't think they'd object to getting younger on D.

Great option. Good size with the weight to boot. Someone who could come in and score another 15 goals before the season ends. I like it.

Very intrigued to see the pairs Letang goes with next weekend. I love how the pairs meshed this weekend. Felt like each one had an elite strength to it. With pair ones elite skating, passing. Pair 2s elite size & reach & pair 3s great physicality & tenacious-ness down low/around the net.

Would assume Hoover is the one out (did he go over 3 fights today?) so maybe it's Dillingham-Del Mastro. Wouldn't hate it as the other pairs seem to have good chemistry. But honestly I'm open to literally any pairing with this group of 6. Not sure you could really go wrong putting Del Mastro with any of the other 5.

That was his 3rd fight today so the next fight he will be suspended for

Here are our remaining games left.

SSM x5
LDN x4
KIT x3
ER x2
GUE x2
OS x2
SAG x2
OTT x2
NB x
KGN x2
FLT x1
PBO x1
HAM x1
NIA x1
WSR x1
SBY x1

I'd say of the 32 left 14 are ones you'd 100% expect us to win vs SSM, ER, GUE, KGN, HAM, NIA, SBY.

13 are super tough toss ups vs LDN, KIT, OTT, WSR, NB, PBO.

The other 5 are ones you'd hope we could win, but they are no slouches in SAG, OS, FLT (not dismissing SAG just think they fall off a little, especially if Mintyukov is dealt). We'd have to win 22 of those 32, but hitting 40 wins would be a nice mark to aim for.

Sucks we were so banged up or else we'd be right there with them for the #1 spot. Gonna be hard to make up 8 points on LDN, WSR with how good they are, but it's doable if we catch fire. Hopefully we are in for some great hockey. Could be loads of fun having LDN WSR SAR all going for it.

As usual Buzzy gets it right & I don't. Romeo traded to Guelph with a 2nd in 2026 for a 2nd & 4th in this upcoming draft.

Seca looking like an idiot on this one if nothing else happens. Traded for Romeo one year ago for a 2nd and 3rd round pick. Now we just gave him away for a 4th. lmao

It just looked obvious. Feel bad for Romeo though.
I think more D could be on the move for picks. I'm thinking Young (bec he is an 05 and eligible unlike Fischer) and either Hoover or MacDonald. They'll be for picks as well. Likely a team in east. A CRAZY week!!!!!

To be fair a 2nd in this draft holds way more value than a 2nd in 2026, but yah still not a great look. But we said from the beginning they overpaid a bit.

I'm not sure if there will be another big move. I guess you never know & I was just wrong with this one but I think they got these picks in this draft because they literally had none in it.

I'm fairly happy with it. Romeo has come a long way but he's still prone to some really (really) bad turnovers. He was probably our 5th best Dman at this point & you got decent value for him. Hoover has been a really solid dman for us & now he can stay in the lineup + Fischer/Young can get in a bit more often.

Alright alright I'm an idiot I get it!! Haha. I can't see Hoover now. I'd like to keep young for future years but that's not fair to him this year so it would make sense. I hope they get proper value for him tho. He's got good upside

Let’s be honest over paid for him in the first place. Never were going to get back close to what we paid,

ya disagree completely tbh. We definitely did not get fair value for him. We threw away a 2nd and 3rd for him only to trade him for essentially a 4th round pick...the math doesn't add up in our favour. Hard to tell if a 2nd in 2023 is going to be any better than a 2nd in 2026.

Romeo improved a lot from his first game in Sarnia to his last, yesterday. Had a hard time staying out of the penalty box at first, got a lot better defensively this year. Good luck to him for the rest of his hockey journey. I agree, if this trade doesn't turn into another piece for this year's run it seems like a waste.

Yeah this is what I thought last year and even with his improvements it hasn't changed. Good defensive d-man but not worth a second and a third. Sting brass probably felt they needed to get some 2023 picks after looking at their draft cupboard

As a Bulldogs fan, glad to hear about Romeo’s development in Sarnia. Unfortunately, that’s 2 years in a row that he has been traded from a team looking to make a big playoff run, which I can’t imagine how that feels. Hopefully he develops further in Guelph.
