Martone is for sure gone in that deal. Possibly MacDonell too
Well that puts Sarnia way in front if that's the deal. Sorry Windsor all your deals this week is for not. Same with you London. Kitchener would have to work another deal to trump Sarnia. Boy going to be some cellar dwellers next year in the West. (Kitchener, Windsor, Sarnia, Kitchener, London) Owen Sound becomes the best team in the West next year without having to do anything at this years deadline. Saginaw will be up there too.

Is it possible Vilmanis is somehow involved in this trade?? Why didn’t he play all of a sudden tonight?

I wouldn't worry about that. Think they were just giving him a rest day. Be no need or reason to trade him

6 picks and martone

That means two 2nds and four 4ths? That would leave Sarnia with no 2nds through 4ths through 2026.

Both Martone and VanVolsen seem to have carried a ton of trade value alone.

We get back 2nd + 3rd in 2024 & 2025 with Moldenhauer not signing

Not next season though. Only the season after. Not that it makes a big deal. Sarnia won’t be using picks as trade pieces next year anyway.

could be, i know 6 picks and martone, think there is more that may happen over the summer.

im out, tired of this place, have a good one.
Ahh. Thanks! Have a good one yourself! Appreciate the updates last few days.

They sent a 2nd & 3rd in 2024 along with a 2nd, 3rd & 4th in 2025 to OTT. All conditional on Moldenhauer.

Definitely love getting those players coming to sarnia, gives us a fast skilled top 6 player and an elite well rounded defenceman on the back end that can do everything. But if both Martone and Macdonell go I think the sting need to go after a 3rd line depth forward because that will leave awhole in the bottom 6.

Yes. My point is you don’t retake possession of them until Moldenhauer ages out. So they don’t officially return to you next season. I think they return as the year’s pass. So, you’d get the 2024 picks back after the close of the 2023-24 season. Then the 2025 picks return after the 2024-25 season.

Again. It shouldn’t matter. The Sting will use the picks to draft players in the rebuild. They won’t need to strategically use them in trades.

Ahh. I was more meaning we have picks to draft with because you said we have no 2nds until 2026. But I see what you mean. None to trade. Still not a great spot to be in lol, but it is better than it looks on the surface

Hopefully ohl4life is right & it's just Martone. Honestly be really good work by Seca to get arguably the best D in the league with an elite centre for 1 player (though hes a great player) & two 2nds with some 4ths. I would've thought just by himself DelBellBelluz would get what Harrison/Arcuri/Zhilkin cost (two 2nds, three 3rds)

Doyle on twitter seemed to indicate nothing will be announced tonight. So whenever the ohl offices open tomorrow it'll be announced. Anybody by chance know that time???? haha

Not all ‘06s are equal. Martone is a big time prospect. His trade value eliminated much of the draft capital required.. same with Van Bolsen in Peterborough for the Beck deal.
