Karsen Chartier & his team (U18 Berlington Eagles) played in a large tournament with all the best U18 teams this past week.

They came 4th, but Chartier was named goalie of the tournament & named to the all-star team. Nice to see. I know the Sting have some solid expectations for him.

Hard to really say they overpaid or underpaid honesty. Speculating is exactly that….speculating. The reverse could be said and Winterton could stay healthy and repeat his performance for London like he did last season with Hamilton. No doubt this is a brilliant trade for Hamilton, but it could even itself out and be equally as beneficial for London. You gotta respect that the Hunters know what they are doing. It’s been repeatedly proven. Testa sounds like he may have been the one lucky player that Dale always seems to have a tissy with for some reason. Seems there’s always at least one rookie who gets the cold shoulder from Dale. His ice time seems to be pretty limited according to the London thread. Works out for the kid too. He will be better for the more ice time he’ll get in Hamilton.

If London still adds who we think they are adding, they all of a sudden just pushed themselves past the rest of the west imo. Players who have been on long playoff runs and seen championships add a lot of other things you don’t always see on the stat sheet. Can’t undervalue experience.
For sure. Just a touch risky for me. Winterton is HR or bust with the % probably leaning bust just because how little he's played.

But if he can stay on the ice he'll be a huge add. Humphrey hasn't had a good yr but maybe with better linemates produces more. He's gritty too & they needed that.

LDN is most definitely a massive problem. Their D & G are elite & now they're adding firepower & gonna be adding more. Just when u thought they maybe were gonna have a bad year.... lmao

Lmao never fails man. Pretty sure the Hunters do this just to remind Sarnia how badly they messed up not keeping them around all those years ago. 🙃

If we stay in the 4-5 spot & if we win round 1 guess who we'd play.... lol. I'm not even sure I'd go lmao. Be the most predictable series in OHL history.

They'd rip our hearts out & stomp on it in the most heartbreaking, dramatic, unthinkable way.

You won't know sports heartbreak until your team loses with 0.1 seconds left in GAME 7 of the OHL finals after having your opponent intentionally injuring your best player becuz he was just so good.

Funny enough I actually watched the highlights of that very series last night (no clue why lmao)

I literally thought if that happened to Sarnia (being up 3-1 in series) losing G6 in OT while losing Scheifele I'd never go to a game again lol. Truly unbelievable just how lucky/unlucky that series was for 1 team

lol, i def wouldn't see any gain knowing i win titles the way they do over there thats for sure

the only way you'd see anderson going for scheif's head was if you were at the game. im sure branch was sure to stash those tapes away real quick

I know its a sting board but thoughts on this as well? Branch real quick to hand a suspension out for this hit as his team was down 3-1 in the series.

No head contact, griffith is 45 degrees to the ice already, camara skates into him.

I call that .. keep your head up, or youre gonna get hit.

Ok this made me laugh. Post of the day. I for one will not count out the Sting esp. If they add another top D. G could rebound n they got some high end skill up front. They would worry me more than Windsor at this point.
And they play a game ( when committed) that gets to LK over the last year plus. This holiday notwithstanding.

Was Griffith hurt/miss time? It's a weird play. No head contact, not charging. It was pre-blindsids rule. But Griffith just lost it before the hit.

I personally would probably be rather pissed off to lose one of my top players for games 5, 6 & 7 for that hit.

Maybe should've got a game, two tops. Shocked in the finals he got suspended especially for a game 7..

Oh cmon if we met in the playoffs Knights fans would be giddy hahaha. The most one-sided "rivalries'" in the league.

I do think we're better than these past 2 games played, but LDN looked fantastic & are adding some great talent.

We play 4 times in 2 weeks in February so those might be a real test to see where each team is at. Hopefully can actually be a rivalry where each team gets some W & fans are traveling back & forth.

I wouldn't be giddy lol.
I really don't care who they play. That part sorts itself out but if I had to wager Id give Sting a better shot than maybe every other West squad.
One Brochu injury nnnnnnnnn.......

But ya Sarnia has had an incredibly, almost impossible to imagine stretch of no/little PO success. It's unreal.
I'm sure they would love the opportunity to topple the "Evil empire" lol.

Sting should have traded for DelMastro instead of Kyrou. The kid has no idea how to play D (thinks there is still a rover) and is going to drive me nuts on every odd man rush he causes.
Also, Martone and MacDonell are the only 2 forwards on this team with any grit. They will be a dynamic duo in the future and fan favourites scrapping and scoring. Sounds like one or both may move but would be a big mistake IMO, even though I agree they both need to step it up NOW. Send picks and anyone else if you need to.

I won't lie for years I thought beating LDN in a playoff series would be as good as winning the conference lmao.

That has fallen off as the teams just haven't had that snarl to them in quite awhile (since Konecny/Tkachuk) year.

Pretty crazy the 2 teams haven't met in the last 20 years in the playoffs. At some pt you would've figured they would've. Especially with how often LDN was a 1 or 2 seed & we were a 7 or 8b

I've been happy with Kyrou's play. Thought he was arguably our best player Saturday. But I agree. He's DeAngelo Jr lol. All offence. Sure Letang will work with him a bit when he's back. I'm guessing MISS hadn't decided to sell yet & Del Mastro just became available recently, but like you said we didn't need both. Del Mastro/Mast/Romeo/Dillingham/Ritchie/Hoover/Fischer is good enough. getting both feels like overkill to me.

I think Filak, Burke have grit, but even just 4 isn't enough. They are all-in & both have gone ice cold & it's hurting the team quite a bit right now, but they are the type of guys you want in the playoffs & moving forward as staples of your team.

Truthfully though, if your trading Martone your committing to being trash the next 2 years & holding onto MacDonell, Wainwright does nothing for us. No matter how good they become it'll be all for not as we will be a bottom feeder. We don't have enough picks due to the Moldenhauer trade to do much more after Del Mastro unless we trade those guys.

There's a lot of pressure to go far this season so it won't shock my if we go stupid with these trades. Martone for Del Mastro, MacDonell for a 2C, Wainwright + Young for another F.. If we have enough cards for that haha.

Also not saying I agree with it. Just sorta come to terms its more than likely what's gonna happen.

Does anyone know if the Moldenhauer conditions are if he signs with Sarnia only?
If that is the case, management should trade his rights to get those picks back.

Honestly no clue. I'd imagine it's sarnia only. I'd hope too lol. Would definitely be a smart move but doubt it happens. Y would any team help us out.

If Kyrou would pick his spots better, I'm fine w him as he is dynamic offensively but word out of Erie is he is not interested in doing so. Agree w you on Filak and Burke. They will engage but it's not in their nature. We need some big and mean in this lineup and then our many 'danglers' will be more effective. .

Got a great look at Del Mastro's play tonight.. felt like he was out there the whole 3rd period. Had to have played 25+ minutes.

Was really good. He's so lengthy it looks impossible to even get around him then u add he's a great skater & dumping it past him barely works either.

Still am unsure my feelings on it (if it happens) but no denying he's an absolute workhorse & will be by far our best Dman. Letang will be giddy to throw out him, mast & romeo in close games we are trying to close out.

Edit: he played 24 minutes lol. 2nd on the backend. Didn't get a shift in OT so that was just regulation for him.

Well, we all know we need another top 6. Assuming this Del Mastro trade occurs and it's one of Martone/Angus going the other way with a few picks, what does that leave us with to add? And who? Couple more names off the board today already.

I'm having a hard time picturing how we add a top 6 and Del Mastro......

Windsor is about to get in in the action too. Getting a solid D (though they overpaid) & a legit T6 F. It's become a full on arms race in the conference between LDN SAR KIT WSR. Remain shocked OS & FLT sit idle. I am starting to wonder if they are gonna reconsider what they wanna do. Be some great assets on those two teams..

We very clearly have a worse F group than KIT & WSR after today (before today too probably). Our T6 is better than LDNs but their B6 is better. It is an absolute MUST we get another good F & maybe even another depth guy.

If im giving up Martone im telling MISS to at least throw in someone like Cooke who had 18 goals last yr to bolster the B6.

i think owen sound has a better top 9 as well tbh. their third line centre is kaleb lawrence.

sarnia is looking at depth but itll still cost 3 top picks.

Yah I'd agree. Just not sure what they're doing.. Wonder if they'll sell off an '03 because they have so many & can't keep them all next yr when they really wanna go for it.
