That's pretty heartbreaking if true. Wow. Talk about a string of bad luck. Feel terrible for the kid. What a shame.

I disagree look what Kitchener got for Vandenberg. They got a 2nd 5th and a goalie prospect. And Vandenberg is the same age as Surzycia. And Vandenberg's played less game then Surzycia and won less games then Surzycia. On another note I found out this morning that Hoover's playing days are done.

Slight correction. The 2nd and 5th picks are correct, but they also got Runco who is actually an '05 D-man.

His numbers were better than Suryzcia tho, and also Niagara doesn’t know how to trade and they spend too much every time.

London must really want to win today. Considering there only playing 2 rookies.

Looks like Sarnia cut/released everyone else. Not happy about that at all. So much for this camp to be whoever plays best gets a spot because some FAs/late rounders definitely outplayed some signed guys.

Soares especially is frustrating. Pretty shocked it looks like Sim will make the team. See how he does today.

LDN playing their A team so get to see how we stack up vs an elite right away lol

I'm surprised we didn't sign any forwards. We only have 13 so only 1 spare. Usually you would have at least 14.

Wainwright gets interfered with & goes crashing into the boards feet first. Stretcher out. He looked to be in a lot pain.

Just horrific. Last thing you ever wanna see let alone in pre season after the players worked so hard in the summer.

From a team perspective he's one of the Fs they couldn't afford to lose & now its likely he's out for a long while. Man. Just awful.

Just awful to hear. I've always loved the way he's played and expected him to take a big jump this season. Really hope somehow it's more minor than it looked

Well I'll be damned. Sting lead after 2, 3-2. Been outplayed pretty hard, but Surzcyia been great & they've been opportunistic.

Brown, Sikic & Filak the goals. Loving Omeri's play on D. Great assist for PPG.

Well that's a great win. I know it's pre season & we'll forget about it in 2 weeks, but i'm impressed. That was LDNs A squad. They are gonna win 40+ games. So to hang in there & win with such a young group is great.

LDn took it to them, definitely were the better team & threw us around at times, but i loved how it never deterred the team. Something i wish last years team had done. Especially the young D. LDN took some runs at them but they didnt panic or get overwhelmed. Made some great stick checks, pokes, clear late.

Really liked Vilmanis-Doherty-Kukumberg up frontl. Filak was good & i thought Brown was really solid. Smart player he is. You can already see Hall will be relied on in those late game/pk situations. Made multple good plays.

In net outstanding. Crazy as it sounds but that might have been a better golatended game than we got all of last year lmao. Surzcyia was unreal & Chartier looked right at home coming in.

Unfortunately Wainwright's injury puts a real cloud over it. Don't think we will be seeing him for some time & thats a huge blow. Somehow we will be even younger without him, especially down the middle.

That game is a prime example of why I'm not ready to give up on this team. This was arguably one of the hardest test they'll have this year. And they showed well full team effort. If we can play 50% of are games like that we will make the playoffs. On another note with Wainwright hurt and kukumberg and Vilmanis heading to NHL camps we will be down to 10 forwards.

That was sort of what I could see them being & what I thought of when I said I thought they could push for 7th.

But assuming Wainwright is out for a long time that'll be pretty hard for them overcome up front. Scoring was already gonna be hard to come by

London is always a cluster muck for the first 10 games and then they end up in first. Probably not their A game as well tonight.

Well although I may still be bitter from last year, I’ve come to realize that I’ll always have an interest in this team regardless on how I feel about the organization. Love the game too much lol. I also have no other hobbies in the winter lmao.

Anyways, hope everyone had a good summer. I’ve been reading along the last few weeks. Went to the game today. I was expecting a convincing loss but obviously come away pleasantly surprised lol.

That was a fantastic display of goaltending from Surzycia! Jaw dropping stops on serval occasions. I wanted to see him continue, but glad I got to see Chartier too. He played very well. Goaltending won Sarnia this game no doubt. I’m wondering about Surzycia being the guy who would fetch more in a trade between him and Benny. Chartier needs to see 25 games this season.

Brutal about Wainwright. Tough to watch. That looked like a very lengthy injury. Huge blow to the offence, which is definitely a concern already. I’m not sure this team has anyone who will surpass 25 goals other then maybe Vilmanis. Filak and Sikic should hit the 20 goal mark, Wainwright would have, so yeah….pretty bleak looking goal totals predicted for this team going forward if you ask me.

Liked what I seen from Brown. Smart player. Hopefully he can grow and fill in. He did not look out of place with Filak and Sikic. Fischer looks like he’s taken a step forward. Thought he played really well. He’s quicker and played with confidence. Safe to say he’s our top defensemen. Liked Barr and Young on the blue line as well. Sim and Lominac looked quite a bit out of place. I’m not sold on Campbell. He’s such an awkward and slow skater imo.

This going to be a very young team no doubt. This shows some early promise on the type of character these guys have. That was a stacked London team that should dummy us all day. Coming back down 2-0 against a team like that with a line up like ours is not something to just shrug off, regardless of it being exhibition or not. Not sure London allows that to happen again though lol. They will be very good, but need a goalie. Can’t seem to get the timely saves on a consistent basis from Bowen. If I’m them, I’m kicking tires at Benny or Surzycia if Simpson isn’t available.

I like what I see in a few years with this squad. Think they’ll compete next year, and be a contender the following year. I think 7th place is a realistic finish for this team this season. We will see our fair share of bumps and bruises this year.

Cheers to hockey season being back!

Great to have you back! Trust me I feel that pain haha. When debating not getting tickets I thought what the heck am I gonna do then during the winter lmao.

Completely agree, although I thought Campbell actually played fairly solid. But he is really awkward at times. I'd be shocked if Sim plays in the regular season. Just can't see it, but with 12 gone he might have to now. I like Lominac but he'll need to adjust to the league's speed. I thought Kukumberg showed well for his 1st NA game. See the potential. Vilmanis looked terrific. I'm a big fan of Omeri.

See if they can have a similar effort tomorrow vs what id imagine is a lesser LDN roster. Still cheesed they are playing at 2PM on Sunday on the NFL kick off weekend.

Heading up to Sarnia in November for the first time. We’ve never been so I am looking for places to stay, things to do, and where to eat. Any help is appreciated as we are excited to make the trip.

No matter where you stay in the city, you are no more then 10 minutes from the arena. Easy access, free parking so don’t worry about that. Can be a little slow going getting out of the parking lots after game, but it’s free so whatever!

After the game, if you show your ticket at Stokes Inland, you get a free small plate of nachos or wings. Also cheap wings after 9pm. Food is decent but definitely not the best Sarnia has to offer. Right around the corner from the rink as well. There’s Bains BBQ (recommend), Boston Pizza, Chucks, Hana, Crabby Joes, Twisted Arm and Brownstones all within a few kilometres (miles lol) from the arena as well. If you like Indian food, Sitara won’t be beat. The restaurant inside the arena is below average in my opinion so I wouldn’t entertain that idea.

All the decent hotels are in Pt Edward close to the bridge. Nice area to go for a walk down under the bridge, although it will be cold in Novembe…but go add a painted rock to the giant rock snake down by the flagpoles lol. Couple brand new hotels along Venetian Blvd. You are also close to downtown too, where there are better food options. Bad Dog is a personal favourite of mine. Breakfast at Johns Restaurant is recommended too. Ups and Downs or Two Amigos if you’re looking for a late night. If this was a summer trip I would be raving about the things to do via the waterfront but unfortunately a Sarnia winter is pretty boring lol.

Couple great breweries as well. Imperial City, Big Family, Refined Fool just to name a few.

Thank you! This is incredibly helpful because we will spend a day in Sarnia in between the 3 games in 4 days schedule. Free parking is a huge plus considering we won’t carry much in CAD. It’s cheaper to use our credit cards in Canada. Lots of good suggestions to look into. I appreciate it!
