I was talking to someone I know at the BBQ today. And they know the Waddick family. And they were saying that we tried to aquire him. But we put our offer in to late and Owen sound got him. Makes me wonder what we would have given up. Also makes me wonder if we might be still looking to make a simallar move still. On another note I took the locker room tour kinda found it odd that Seca's office was the only door that was closed but its probably just me looking to far into things
Is the dressing room area nice?

Well once again Niagara over pays. A 3rd and a 5th for an 18 year old who had 0 pts in 8 games last year. And an OA who is a bottom pair D man/4th liner. Niagara still needs an OA maybe we send them Way or Sikic. Maybe they'll give us a 2nd for one of them lol.

To be fair to Federkow, London's D is absolutely stacked. I think the price is fair.

Feel like every year I complain about this, but god is it frustrating how little the team & the local media do for coverage of this team. Honestly not sure if there's many teams with a worse team website for interviews, proper post game reports with quotes than us.

Almost all the other teams make articles/posts about their camp rosters, camp cuts + interviews with the GMs/coaches about the camp & the prospects.

Not the Sting tho. Radio silence. Not one piece of news or anything in a week. Just really irritating.

Sting sign 5th rounder Cassey Bridgewater. The Sting now have 10 signed D Men.
Interesting to see them sign another d-man. Seca says in the article on the Sting website that Bridgewater will play Jr. B with Stratford this season but will see time with the Sting during the preseason. No inside knowledge just my thoughts but I wonder if Bridgewater had expressed some interest in going the NCAA route and that's why the Sting signed him so quickly. Possible that a trade of a d-man is coming soon or that Hoover's injuries are a little more serious than we thought

Before camp I remember Seca talking & saying they were working at a deal with bridgewater. So he definitely might have been considering other options.

Very happy they signed him. He's such an elite skater & isn't afraid to get nasty or go at it with bigger guys in front of down low. Has a lot of upside & room to grow. Excited to see how he does in pre season.

Sting are definitely set up on the backend for years to come with Fischer, Campbell, Omeri, Barr, Hurt, Bridgewater all 17U. Not to mention some of their later picks don't look to bad.

Me thinks this next draft you'll see them take a lot of swings at F.

i watched campbell 4 or 5 times last year, im not so sure he's as good as advertised. he has great feet but his sense is all over the map.

barr is an outstanding skater, i think hes a fine top 4. no knowledge of hurt really.

Yah I can see that too. Physically he looks much better this camp. See how he looks in a game & under pressure. Not saying he's gonna be a stud or anything. Just hoping he can be your typical 3rd pair puck mover

Hurt looked really solid in camp. believe he's 6'0, solid feet but not great, "known" for his defense & physical play, but I was legitimately impressed by his vision from the backend. Once again tho only camp. See how he looks vs OHL guys every shift. Big fan of Barr.

How do you feel about he being your second best dman?
Obviously says a lot about where we are at. Be better served as a 4. But if he is out we will desperately miss his physical play & fearlessness. Such a young group on D & he's one of only 2 "vets".

When he was in last yr he was also really dang solid & reliable so we could use that. Unfortunately seems like he can't catch a break so becoming hard to have him penciled into the roster.

Question - I thought I seen somewhere that Evan Van Gorp was at Sting camp, can someone confirm that?

Who’s on the move? Also will Gaudreau be traded?
IMO which isn't very popular on this subject. For me personally I would not trade Gaudreau. I think there's more value in keeping him and letting Chartier backup this year. I believe Chartier would learn more from Ben then Surzycia. Plus I think as of right now Surzycia would fetch more in a trade. Considering he has 2 years of eligibility left.

I’m not sure he would learn alot from Ben, his confidence level is terribly low and when’s it’s low he’s real bad in net, also he is way to big of a hot head in the crease which is not what you want in a goalie and I wouldn’t want him teaching that to another goalie. Also Suryzcia won’t get us much at all he only has 30 games in the league with below average numbers and only has 1 year left in the league with the possibility of an OA year if anyone wants to use a spot on him.

If Sarnia was better set up for picks i'd see what you are saying, Jason. For me trading Ben makes to much sense. we dont have high end pieces to sell. He's one of our only players who might fetch a 2nd or 3rd (he will have to be playing well.)

Surzcyia likely has little value around the league. Hope i'm wrong just think he'd have to show well before a team would wanna spend an asset on him.

No clue how theyll handle it cause i personally have no interest in sending Chartier down while he waits for Ben to likely be dealt. He should & needs to be playing games for us. We need to know what we have in him & if he is the answer in net going forward.

Could sort itself out in pre season but tough spot for Seca.

I disagree look what Kitchener got for Vandenberg. They got a 2nd 5th and a goalie prospect. And Vandenberg is the same age as Surzycia. And Vandenberg's played less game then Surzycia and won less games then Surzycia. On another note I found out this morning that Hoover's playing days are done.

Feeling bad for Hoover. He left it all on the ice. He did everything he was asked . But his health comes first .

FWIW I think you are on the right track here. Maximize assets but also keep some of the high and winning culture they started to cultivate with last years team.
