I grant you he's having a great year but I still think we're better targetting two OA forwards and a goalie although some on the Ottawa board would disagree as they think we need to add a playmaking D. As for picks it would not be an issue.

I’m would think you would need an upgrade in net a guy like hollowell or Eliot on d, and a oa forward... I just thought it would be a good trade because sarnia fills two of those needs in one trade, then you can go all in on a goalie in another trade

Come on now, you Ottawa fans are not being realistic. I said it’s highly unlikely that Graeme Clarke would be traded based on pedigree, potential, draft status in addition to his being a hometown kid. But Yule and Peric are exactly the type of players that get traded when contenders bolster their lineups. I’m not saying they’re going to be traded, but unless your GM says that they are categorically off the table, I think that there is every reason to believe that those 2 guys will be brought up in trade discussions.

In spite of their record, the 67’s are an imperfect team. The PP is in the bottom third of the league at 19% and the PK is middle of the road, functioning at <80%. Cedric Andree has played reasonably well, but most would consider the 67’s goaltending questionable and trailing the pack when compared to other “contenders”. Right now I think they would get smoked by the Knights in a playoff series and I’m not sure I’d pick them over Oshawa or Niagara either.

Interesting read from Daniel Carcillo about bullying in junior hockey and how the rookies quit on the veterans in the playoffs of his rookie season in the OHL

I remember that team well. They were a great mix of talent and toughness. I thought they were a perfect playoff team. I was so shocked and disappointed that they went out in the 1st round; now I know why (well Dustin Brown had something to do with it too as I recall)

I think the reason we're saying this is because of our draft cupboard we don't neccesarily need to trade bodies. Are Peric/ Yule/Quinn etc being mentioned...of course but doesn't mean the poles will trade them. Hey GM's are gonna try right? Yule I could see going but problem with Peric is that we've got a heavy 19/18 y.o. D so two years from now him and Belanger are it. As Peric is already a very good third pairing D already I don't see him moved. Of course I could be wrong. I do agree adding a goalie would be smart as as good as Andree has been ( and he has been very good), I'm not sure I want my eggs all in an 18y.o goalie basket. In respect to your statement the Knights would smoke them. Right now I do think the nights would beat them in a hard series, however once Clarke, Okhotiuk and Rossi are back...not so sure. Besides we both know both these teams are not a finished product. Interesting thing Ottawa has two OA spots open and can actually outbid the Knights. Will be interesting.

Knights will probably bring another ncaa player or two over because they do it every year, something they have over the 67’s

One has come already and you're right this is an advantage the Knights have over most of the league. A tribute to the program they have built.

Grima has to be one of the most frustrating D on this team. I counted 4 times yesterday where he literally made zero second effort and watched the puck go in the net. Lazy!

Especially in around the net, trade him for a 10th round pick lol

Just because you have a million picks doesn’t mean you don’t have to trade players. If another team offers a young player, that deal immediately becomes more valuable. Ottawa will surely move out some young players as they also can’t keep everyone. Otherwise they’ll be healthy scratching like 8 guys a game

Perrault is gunna be a gem, already is, so skilled and he plays so hard, sooo nice to see a guy with decent size, skill and heart get drafted by the sting... I just hope we have him longer than 2 years lol...Reesor is also very Impressive...big, strong, good skater and so smart defensively... I know langevin hasn’t been putting up great numbers but man he makes some great saves and he battles for every puck, he’s young and so in experienced I think he will be a good goalie next year after more experience and maturing

Be nice to see josh nodler and Mitchel Miller commit to the sting this year or next, both good prospects who played honeybaked for Kevin Hatcher and are playing ushl not for the USNTDP

We've been essentially rostering 12 forwards, 6D most of year. So if we add lets say two forwards we only have two scratches so not much of an issue. Our rookies who have had nice icetime for the first half will likely take a backseat after the deadline and its Ok. All I'm saying is if we are able to keep our good players it would be ideal for the future. I think we have the potential to be competitive for a few years if we use our picks. Of course it takes two to trade and they might need to sacrifice a young player or trade one unwilling to accept a temporary lesser role. We'll see but I'm excited, we haven't had reason in Ottawa to look forward to the deadline in 6/7 years.

Frankly, I'm very surprised to see some of the comments in this this article. IMO for a player picked 37th overall in last years draft Hogue has been somewhat of a disappointment so far . For a second rounder with 2 points last year and 2 points so far this year not sure if complaining about how the coach is using him is really a smart idea. IMO he's been really , really lucky to see the icetime he has (particularly playing on the PP). Where was this article published ?

The other thing really surprised me today was that after Kelton Hatcher's hit today on Tullio that there was no attempted payback by the Generals. I was at this game today and that hit was an absolute demolition. Reminded me of Scott Stevens hit on Eric Lindros.
Seeing it live it looked like Hatcher had Tullio in his sights and took more than 3 steps but even if it wasnt a charge I cant believe nobody from Oshawa went beserk.. Not sure if this was related to earlier in the game where Tullio was trying to stir the pot running around hitting some of the Sting players or not but I was shocked that there was no payback or attempted payback. I guess the game is really is changing.

Said he's going to name names.... will be interesting to see who he names.... I always heard stories about extreme hazing in the OHL, heard numerous "hot box" stories too ... The higher the lever the more extreme the hazing was. Although the worst story I ever heard was from Jr.C. and that team got banned forever I think. I remember being in Midget and it was my draft year hearing some of those stories and it puts tremendous off ice stress on young men... almost to the point where you don't even want to play at that level. Grown men at the front of the bus letting that nonsense happen at the back is alarming and they should be ashamed. Good for Carcillo for calling out those d-bags. I bet one was Newbury, always seemed off.

Newbury was one of the 3 OAs that year that Carcillo referrred to in his tweet so there is a reasonable possibility he was one of the guys that could be mentioned in the book.
