Can anyone play the right side if we move Holl? I know we have tried Sandin, can't remember how he looked.

He looked terrible with Rielly when he played the right but that may be due to the stylistic fit, they are both offensive D-men. Muzzin doesn’t like playing the right either.

It’ll probably be Gio I think.

The only thing that makes any sense is tha the agent wanted 1 year and more coin. Although I'm not positive I think that would've put Sandin into arbitration territory(betting on himself having a great year) and of course the higher QO

This is a good contract for the team and allows them some breathing room and also gives them another couple of years to decide on either one, or both of them.

Personally I think both of these kids end up as 2nd pairing Dmen with Sandin having a little higher offensive potential while Liljegren is the better all-rounder.

It was a good thing that the Leafs management saw the value in letting both of them develop as opposed to rushing them into situations they couldn't have handled as some folks were demanding.

This signing puts the Leafs about $3 mil over the cap and perhaps LTIR can be used with some of the injuries.

The Leafs won’t carry a 23 man roster so it’s really not as much as this would indicate. Anyways yes, I would assume until Liljegren can return from his hernia this has no impact on our cap. For the time being, Leafs are still compliant with zero moves

I don't see that he can leverage a lot more even there's injuries just happened. Dubas knows how much he could spend on Sandin and he won't just put a new like 1*4m show and prove me offer. Sandin probably want to get it signed and join the camp rather than missing the camp at all. Dialed back to Nylander contract negotiation, how bad did he play in that rest of the 2/3 of the season? If Sundin wants to show what he can do, this is a good 2 years signing then trying to ask for 1 year more dollar contract.

I think he finally understood that if he seize this opportunity he will get his money eventually, if he let it slip no 200k this year or next matters. There were two defenders that were above him in the depth chart and they're out.

This situation here is like table catered for Sandin. He can snatch top4 spot for this season by playing well. Lost week of good practice, but cut the losses.
