Well Sissons has gotten over 9 goals once and is on pace for 7 goals this season.

Kerfoot is a massive overpay as is the Sisson salary.
Kerfoot would be a top 6 winger all day in nashville.
It has ZERO to do with offense ZERO ... a shutdown big fast centre who runs people over is what we need ... go back and watch Sissons in playoffs he has carried Nashville on his back ... and we are gonna need a guy or two like this in our Habs matchup ... you guys will all learn da hard way in playoffs when game is played for real ... Habs and Canes and Tampa have best defense in league and when you play these kinda teams skilled guys like ours can't find open ice because there is none ... you have to fight for every inch of ice in battles ... and da battles are not called penalties in da playoffs so big man teams win ... watch and learn

Kerfoot & Dermott for Bennett + ? (pick or prospect)

Bennett -- Matthews -- Marner
Hyman -- Tavares ----- Nylander
Mikeyev --Thornton -- Simmonds

I just don't see us killing our C depth, for a winger. I don't think that works at all.

Bennett is a natural centre, just playing him on the wing, no different than playing Jumbo Joe on that line really when it comes to C depth before and after trade. :)

Bennett would add some real sandpaper to the Matthews/Marner combo and provide some push back ability.

Closer to bust than stud/achieving potential. No doubt about it, You’re wrong on this one.
He had 54 points in 64 games and a great playoffs last season and he's still young. Maybe using the terms right/wrong are premature on a player that is 24.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he's only played centre in a meaningful amount in one season (2016-2017). He's a natural centre in the same way most top prospect forwards play centre while they're in Junior.

Bennett has failed completely as a center every time they've tried him there (and he's had way more chances there than he deserved though).

On the wing he hasn't been quite as bad - sort of a poor man's Connor brown.

He certainly was a Centre at the OHL level and drafted as one. In the NHL he has likely been used more as a winger perhaps.

I'd suggest that if the Leafs would acquire him it would be to play as a winger, and not a centre and why I suggested that he might fit nicely beside Matthews and Marner as a complementary piece to complete that line with someone willing to do the heavy lifting.

I'd play him in the top 6 and not bottom 6 and then there is no need to play C if that were the case. :)

I really like the bite to his game as in his hitting and tenacity in which he battles for pucks, something our Leafs don't have a lot of.

I agree

I would not move Kerfoot for Bennett but if Kerfoot is going to be another victim of the cap this offseason, perhaps you do move Kerfoot for Bennett+ and then pick up a #3C at the TDL.

I would love Bennett on this team-still too soft.

We gonna find out how good/soft this team is next week in the home and home with the Habs. Dubas better hope they can out skill them because the Habs are just as fast as the Leafs. Lose both games and the pitch forks will be out for Kid Kyle. Split or win both and the pitch forks stay put.

No, he's just not been good as a C.

Geoff Ward on Bennett last night..

At the beginning of the season, and what a lot of people don’t know, I basically gave Sam the choice of where he wanted to play. He wanted to start at centre and so we started him at centre, and he came in after a couple of games and said, ‘Hey, I think I may want to take the other option,’ which was playing on the wing. We gave him a choice to play in two different positions at the start of the year. So before anybody jumps all over that as to reasons why he may be unhappy, let’s just quell that right now.

He's going to be a winger from here on... that's just the reality of it.

Trade for superstar to be nick ritchie then. You wont. Another L for you. You my friend, are illogical.

They've given him chance after chance after chance.

Complete failure at C.

At wing he's topped out as a not-big, not-fast, non-productive, kindasorta-gritty 3rd line wing.

This!

Dont wanna see Ferris Vs Dubas Round 2 ever!

I still remember Burke going on and on about Johnny hockey's contract and how Ferris negotiated; and thinking Dubas wouldn't fall for that and KABOOM!!!! LOL
doesn't matter who the player agent is imo, if it's not a league minimum contract Dubas tends to overpay........

He grew up playing a lot of wing with McDavid, played center in the OHL and has mostly been a wing in the NHL. He's a LW at this point that can maybe sub in at C for injuries and take PK faceoffs.

I like Bennett and I think he would be a good fit on the Leafs. I definitely wouldn't give up much for him though. He's massively underperformed basically his entire career.
