Leafs can't afford to hand out 2.5 M in cap to projects.
Dubas didn’t leave any cap room for depth on D or anywhere else for that matter.Lol thats another thing. Tampa had Bogosian/Luke Schenn/Coburn rotating in and out as Depth.
While we had Marincin. Just goes to show how different Tampa's Front Office thinking was compared to the Leafs
Half this fanbase still wants Bogosian benched for Lehtonen.
How is continuous 1st rd Playoff exits still not enough for half this fanbase to realize how playoff soft this team still is

I have not watched him at all regularly since minor midget year where I saw almost every one of his Friday night games ... but you do realize he can't even bench his own weight and he can't even do 1 pull up ... now I am well over 50 and and 6ft5 and I can still bench my weight i tried over holidays and can still do 3-5 pull ups ... this is not a strong kid ... my kid weighs less and can bench 300 with over 30 pull ups in minors ... I don't need to watch him to know he is WEAK by any standardYou're kidding right? Dude is extremely physical. Yes he came in to the league as a guy known more for skill, but he's not afraid of Bodu Contact at all. Not sure what games you're watcing
Tampa went out and spent a lot of future capital on deadline upgrades.
Dubas could have done that too, and had a trade lined up for Bogo in particular, but passed because the leafs hadn't played well enough to justify trading futures for rentals.
Washington and Boston beat us with skill, not toughness. In fact, the leafs did better against those teams in the playoffs than expected.
The Bruins 4th Line of Wagner/Kurally/Acciari literally had Ron Hainsey ducking for cover every time they were on the ice.
That 4th line blew ours out of the water. The intimidation factor they brought on shift to shift was extraordinary. That 4th line was huge in their game 7 against us.
Their skill players also played a much more grind game. They werent afraid of contact, hence why they got more dirty goals against us.
I think we're right there. We need better complimentary pieces.
Get me a Beagle canucks, a watson sens or a sissons preds if when they get knocked out of playoffs ... we could use one of those guys for our run ... beagle or sissons for kerfoot and we are better off for war ... watson for a barabanovThe Bruins 4th Line of Wagner/Kurally/Acciari literally had Ron Hainsey ducking for cover every time they were on the ice.

Imagine coming out of those series thinking kuraly acciari Wagner were the key.
When did I say they were the key?
Lmao imagine missing the whole point altogether.
True that, too much Goat among said players IMO.The leafs would def be more tougher to play against if guys like Mikheyev, Vesey, Holl, Engvall, Muzzin played up to their weight. They all have bulk for it

Agreed.I'd love to get Bennett. Maybe some salary retention by them? He's a tough customer and a pain to play against. Reminds me a lot of Kadri, only he hasn't lived up to his draft spot quite the same as Kadri did. However he could be third line LW at worst and play C in case of an injury. Also I think he would flourish if given the chance we've given Vesey when fully healthy (winger to Tavares-Nylander). I definitely like the idea of this if Pridham can make it all work
this is probably what it's going to take to get him but I feel that's a High price considering he wants out. I was would hope for Engvall +4th.. but that would be a steal (for the present time assuming Engvall won't be more than a 3line liner producing 20-25pts).Agreed.
Maybe dermott and Engvall for Bennett (with a little retention to make it work)?
I'm not one for the goon squad but we should absolutely target a player like Watson over Bennet. I like Kerfoot and I wouldn't trade him for a player like Beagle or Watson but I'd take them on my team.Get me a Beagle canucks, a watson sens or a sissons preds if when they get knocked out of playoffs ... we could use one of those guys for our run ... beagle or sissons for kerfoot and we are better off for war ... watson for a barabanov
