Unfortunate but when you get a match penalty for crosschecking up high, that's going to happen. I guess if he's mad, he can complain to his dad who is the director of officiating for the OHL.

It all stems back to Humphrey though...if you watch that sequence, there's a whistle for a bad faceoff and Humphrey skates all the way to Parekh and says or does something that obviously Hache did not like. Even the announcer ripped on Humphrey "just drop the gloves and go" and "quit the trash talking".

Oh well...next man up on defense, I'm sure Glavin will be ready to go and who knows, maybe this accelerates a trade for a defenseman that I think we all know is coming at some point.

No one seems to be mentioning everything started way before this. If you watch the highlight video (I'll drop a link here), you can see Zayne was already gesturing to the Ice Dogs bench during his goal.

Ontario Hockey League

20 second mark of the video.

Totally saw that...I've been the first to admit on the Spirit board and here that Zayne is going to lose some teeth this year because he's cocky and isn't afraid of giving cheap shots. If he wasn't on our team, I'd absolutely hate him as a player...all the skills in the world but he certainly attracts attention from the other team and seems to embrace the villain role on the team.

So what’s the chance Luca DelBelBelluz shows up in Saginaw?
Greater than zero or there would have been no reason for Saginaw to trade for his rights. Remember earlier in the season Saginaw traded for fellow Columbus prospect Lalonde to get him out of a less than desirable situation so maybe there is some inside baseball between Saginaw management and Columbus brass. Not sure how contracts work but I’m sure Luca is going to get his 9 games in the AHL before any decision is made. Going to come down to if Columbus wants him scratched every couple of games in the A playing <15 minutes in a bottom 6 role, or as a top line guy playing 20+ a night in the memorial cup with players like Misa who the way Columbus is headed couples be inline for 1.01 in 2025

Okay good to know! It would be interesting if he were to come back.

I do want to preface that the same thing happened to Sonny Milano for the London Knights and he didn’t end up showing up during the 2016 Memorial cup run. It’s definitely a longshot, but a good calculated move in the end.

Yeah I mean I’d probably put the odds closer to 25% chance he shows which means of course 75% chance he doesn’t. But for a 15th rounder worth the gamble. Especially when the conditions on the picks would clear at the OA deadline which makes them available again to be traded at the regular deadline the next day. Risk free move essentially to add a potential top end addition in cheap

I do love how sneaky efficient Forgione has been so far this season. He’s never going to get the buzz of Dionico or Parekh but he just been super steady. Kinda of starting to fill in that role that Mancini held.

Quick math so I could be wrong, but Saginaw has outscored opponents 48-25 over the 10 game streak. Since the adds from Windsor offense has exploded. If DBB were to come this team could really blow some teams out down the stretch (long shot I know). Plus at least 1 or 2 other big adds and this team will bis every bit of what we expected

10 in a row for you guys. Congratulations. Knew your team had it in them not sure why others didn’t. The moving the cup thread was the dumbest thing ever especially so early in the season. Best thing is you guys are probably far from done and will be adding more pieces too. What do you guys think about Okes play? Is he enough to put you guys over the top?

And Lalonde is just as serviceable for a backup when needed - it never was his fault when we had the short losing streak.

I know people were quick to look at the standings, but three things factored in to appearing worse then we were:

1 - It seemed like every team had 3+ games played on top of us - even now, every team in the West Division has 24 GP while Saginaw only

2 - A high amount of OT games/extra points being handed out. It seemed like every game I was checking a score on was going to OT

3 - The west earning points against the east (with Saginaw being the exception)

Saginaw has still yet to lose a game by more than one goal (if you exclude empty net goals). They've also maintained the highest PP and PK% in the league. They are currently #1 in both areas, with the PK at 88.4% and PP at a staggering 33.3%

It does feel like we've taken a lot of penalties but actually when I look at the overall standings, it looks like we're right in the middle of the pack actually.

The winning streak won't go on forever, so let's see how we play Wednesday against the Soo. Really excited to see what we look like against them this time around - the last time Saginaw needed a game-tying goal with 6 seconds left before loosing in the shootout.

I think Oke's play has been very solid but the play in front of him has been much better...blocking shots, tying up the guy in front and winning those 50/50 pucks all make a goalie that much better. That said, our system still gives up way more odd-man chances (there was a 2 on 0 last night in 5on5 situation) than I'm comfortable with but Oke has seemed up to the task on those for the most part. There's been a few goals where it's like "man, seems like he should have had that" but then he sprawls out 2 or 3 times and saves our bacon and you can live with those other little ones. I'm sure he'll get more and more confident now that he's back from injury and out of Lennox's shadow so I doubt you'll see any movement for our goalies...Oke and Lalonde will be the 2 for us the rest of the year (barring injuries).

Won't know...was more curiosity or a figure of speech...felt the same way with T-Bone being the odd-man out with the OA's this year and how the team would keep him motivated but he obviously handled his own business getting signed.

I'm a big college football fan and I've watched coaches have QB competitions and neither guy gets the full reps and fans are always pining for the backup and you end up with 2 mediocre QB's instead of one really believing in themself. Other times, even if it's not clear cut (to the fans at least) a coach will come out and name a guy the starter and the team can rally around the QB and the QB seems to play really confidently because they know they're the man.

I want a clear-cut #1 in Saginaw just like we had last year with Lennox. Oke was a talented goalie sitting on the bench but we were riding Lennox until he couldn't go anymore and that was absolutely the right move. If you're not going to do that, Lennox should have been traded. Now that he's the #1, Oke seems really confident and I'm sure he's getting all the reps in practice...with LaLonde coming in, do those reps decrease and how does that affect Oke's play. Again, I won't know because I don't go to practice but it's a curiosity for sure.
By my count, Saginaw has 3 player cards left. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I think Saginaw has only had 26 players play a game for them this season. Of those 26, Jacob Cloutier might end up on a B card as it looks like he is playing with the Chatham Maroons. So 25 or 26 cards is what I count.
