We'll see, Saginaw as way more assets to add to their roster than the Rangers do
I think you missed the winky guy Hounds. The suggestion by the poster was maybe Saggy could pick up Brzustewicz? He would cost them an arm and two legs. What would they have left to bolster their line up after? Anyhow I hope Saggy does rise up in the standings. They are the host and we all want them to represent the OHL in the Mem Cup Showcase.

Top 9 Saginaw has been using for the last few games:

Willis-Sapovaliv-Mangone

Misa-Haight-Young

Zhugin-Hay-Loukus

Really like this set up. Very balanced. Each line has scoring as some two way to it’s game. Gives us 3 solid lines to keep guys fresh. Hay is fitting in nicely too. 7 points in 9 games. I wonder if he continues to produce if going after someone like Owen Beck becomes redundant? Resources may be better used to get someone who can hold their own on that 2nd line wing? Or still get Beck and just slide Haight out to wing?

windsor trade coming shortly
Huge Trade.

Saginaw gets Dionico, Christopoulous, and a late draft pick. Saginaw sends Zhugin, Mancini, a 2024 2nd rd, a 2025 2nd round, and a 2026 4th round pick.

I was really starting to like Zhugin.

Interesting trade. Really interesting. Love u guys grabbing Christopolous. Top 5 shooter in the league. Lethal. I'm pretty surprised with the import swap. Zhugin been really solid. Dioncio is an adventure in his own end at times. Can lose his cool. Feel for Mancini who's been such a trooper for u guys to be dealt in a yr like this to the worst team.

Will say only giving up 3 picks is great tho. U guys still r loaded on them to add even more.

I'll miss Zhugin as he's been great so far this season but adding an elite scorer and a top offensive defenseman are upgrades at both positions for sure. I'm sure there are still more moves to come too.

Yeah the Zhugin Hay Loukus line was doing good work last week. Needed a puck mover and top 6 forward. Just so weird this was how it came about. Hate to see Mancini leave

For sure, hate to see him leave. I never found out - was he related to Bob? Our former coach?

But I certainly can't complain with the return. We are certainly a better team today then we were yesterday.

And for McNamara - I've said this in a couple other places, but I've lost count of the times he's *almost* scored or done something amazing. I can only imagine how frustrated he's been, so I hope the change of scenery brings out the best in him.

I mean they just picked up 3 picks for McNamara today and I would have to assume Young will be used to pick up a rental at the deadline.
Plus other players. Everyone keep saying “you don’t have players to move” and yet here we are.

Think we need a d man to eat minutes though now at the deadline.

No relation. Bob has a son named Victor who played in europe in juniors and the ushl and currently plays for Nebraska Omaha in the NCAA. After the way the family felt after bob was fired here zero chance thier son was gonna play in the OHL 😂

Yeah honestly David Brown could play a lot of minutes on a few rosters in the O

How good would Midland native Roman Schmidt look in an exchange of he and Loukus to Kitchener???

Dioncio isn’t a import

He's NJ born but was raised in Switzerland from an early age and played for the Swiss at the 2023 WJC.

I'll say this - please enjoy Christopoulos and Dionicio. Christopoulos doesn't say a whole lot but is one of the most driven, passionate players I've seen. He'll do anything it takes to score, can throw his weight around (6' 190, but a rock), and has plenty of leadership. Dionicio is physical, will stand up for teammates in a blink, and has fun offensively. While he's admitted his defence needs work, it's getting there. You guys are getting two very fun talents.

Rangers are the top dog. Have to make any trade interesting.
Saginaw was near the top of the standings last year when they traded Mintuykov...is Kitchener really in a talent acquisition position? Right now there's about 7 guys averaging approx. a point per game or more. 6 of those 7 guys are 19/20 years old (only Rehkopf is a 05). That tells me that they're either in a go-for-it year where they should be making moves with some of their younger players, or they should be dealing a couple of those older guys, making the playoffs as a 4/5 seed and see what happens (similar to what Saginaw did last year). They can get a pretty big haul for some of those guys and if it was me, you sacrifice this year a little to be really good for the next 2-3 years and maybe even put in to host the next Memorial Cup. It all depends on what Kitchener wants to do but there's certainly going to be offers for some of those guys...there was a lot of talk in the offseason about Saginaw and Kitchener doing a deal.

Kitchener is in an awkward spot where they don't have a whole lot they can give up to acquire more, they need to sell off to rebuild the draft cupboard
