What is wrong with this team I thought you were going to be a contender this year. I guess the question that is being looked at is can the M Cup be held in a city where the team struggles to make the playoffs

A little early to be writing the Spirit off as a team that is not going to be a playoff team is hilarious. Lazary and Drinkill are capable of making some moves to change things. Their are picks and players to acquire picks. McNamara, Young, and Glavin are pieces to sweeten deals with picks to get what they want.
With 56 games left not pushing the panic button yet. The new blood has to adjust to new systems and teammates let's give it till January and see? Bet they are not at the bottom!?

Does firing Lazary fix the problem in Saginaw or does it go beyond him in fans opinions? We've already seen a few teams with turnover this season in that department...

It would depend on who the replacement would be. But they have to get it together sooner than later.

Do they make their big deals early to try to right the ship?

Why was McNamara out? I heard there could possibly be a trade for Sag .

Is it? Soo struggled to make playoffs and look at them

Maybe money simply just talks.

Only if your a Saggy fan. Remember not many teams applied to host. Saggy got the pleasure and has to deal with it. It's totally up to them to find a way out of the place they are in.
Remember what? The Soo applied.

As a Soo fan I feel pretty concerned they picked Saginaw over us right now, yup. Especially as someone who was very vocal posting on here saying our roster would be stronger this season and we didn't get a fair assessment due to injuries all season to our key players.

I see your point HF but it doesn't help the situation Saggy finds themselves in. I don't know enough about team strengths at this point in time. Some one suggested firing the coach. Others wondered if the team should make trades early. It's early in the season. I hope Saginaw climbs up the ladder and does a great job hosting. I am sure the management is more concerned. The vultures I mentioned are posters of other franchises wanting Saggy to jump in and make trades already. It's the OHL. Things can change in a heart beat.

Agree. I also don't think firing Lazary is the answer.

I give Saginaw until November 13th...that's five more games, 4 of which are against arguably teams Saginaw CAN beat, if nothing changes by then I expect player/staff movements...the team can't keep digging the hole deeper...

Aside from a few players Saginaw needs players with more grit. Willing to get into the corners and battle hard for the puck. They shy away from the boards and head straight for the middle.

Upgrade at OA forward? Loukas out and Mitch Martin in?

I don't think firing Lazary is on the table this season. They will be making roster moves, perhaps sooner than expected. IMO.
Agree. Biggest need seems to be D. #19 is a very skilled player but he is not the kind of D thats going to win you a Memorial Cup, great on the PP, but a liability though on D the rest of the game. Need to make a deal for a game changing complete D man. I'm also not fully sold on the goaltending. Still early, but time is ticking and probbaly best to get the deals done sooner than later.

Same could be said about kingston. traded anyone good away last year for picks and young players (arcuri/hache/wright)

With a new coach this team will trend into a different direction then where they are right now.

I think Saginaw will be fine though. Goaltending is an issue. Defence could be worked on but I’m very confident they’ll make the moves for both of those. It is strange though to get off to as bad a start as they’ve had.

FWIW, i've heard McNamara to Kingston for Ludwinski
I hope you’re kidding. Unless there is a billion picks I don’t see why kingston does that

Ludwinski is in fronts lineup tonight so that’s probably false.
