Trading Cozens makes no sense as it would mean Adams admits he made a huge error signing him long term and trading Mittlestadt. Adams would be gone before Cozens surely?

It could be Byram if he isn't convinced about staying long term and he'd return a haul, especially with other bits packaged.

It could be Power if they aren't happy with spending nearly $30m on 3 d-men. He'd return a haul also.

So it'll probably be they're acquiring Trouba.

Doesn't Tuch provide much of those? Odd that you are looking for those qualities and yet shipping one of the few forwards that provide that? Tuch would be an awesome add for a lot of the playoff teams, I would love to add him to the Canucks but we have nothing that the Sabres want (nothing that helps the Sabres that is available anyways).

What are some of the Sabres targets? Buffalo has so many great pieces, you should have no problem getting the players you want/need. I'm curious what you think will help the Sabres turn it around. If ROR (who also provided leadership and grit and some toughness), can't do it, I'm not sure who will.

It's a classic thing for some Sabre fans to hate on the few people who do a certain thing but don't do enough of it to cover for everyone else's absence.

They need to improve their PK and PP. They have had terrible starts from 2/3rds of their 2nd line and their goalie rotation is not fruitful since Levi is sitting too much (Adams, big brain move waiving Reimer instead of assigning Levi) and not getting game reps.

Another RD and a 2nd line C (and move Cozens to wing) or winger (and move Quinn down the lineup) seem like the likely places to look.

Isn’t this standard GM speak 95% of the time when asked this line of questioning? They always answer “love my guys, but always looking for ways to make the team better”. It’s basically the one sentence summary of their job description.

GM’s seldom say they dislike their group, and never say they’re not looking for ways to improve.

I agree something isn't clicking. When you look at the roster though.. that is a lot of talent. Could be the coach. I do think Sabres 'should' be a playoff team this year. It's strange as an outsider to be honest.

Think that's exactly what the issue is, it's just a bunch of talent put together without any consideration for fit.

This is the general type of deal that I think Sabres fans want Adams to make -- consolidate a bunch of our higher-end prospects to go get a big fish.


That said, I can't imagine the Isles trading Barzal unless they're committed to some form of rebuild (which, IMO they should be.....but can't actually see it happening with Lou/Roy)

This Sabres fan will personally pass on the two first round draft choices and two quality depth prospects for an injured 27yo center who was half PPG before going down for 4-6 weeks. Not that Kevyn asked me, but if he did…

They need toughness,.leadership, and grit...Really no one on the roster should be untouchable...As a fan, I'd like to see Tuch, Power, and Cozens shipped out for starters.

That would legitimately shock me. He's had a few rough games, but overall looks like a world's better player than he did last season. His level of calm on the attack is shocking for such a young player. Moving OP would take a massive return.

I'd have a hard time moving. Big, rangy, guy. Skilled. When every one else on the club saw a massive point drop from 22-23 to 23-24, he stayed roughly the same. He's having a solid year. Just shy of 22. People are so quick to throw the baby out with the bathwater these days.

Who would you want from Columbus for Barzal ?

I really like a lot of Columbus’s pieces, but I don’t think they match up well with a Barzal trade. The reason is, I think the player or players the isles would want Columbus wouldn’t wanna give up and the prospects they’d be willing to give up. I don’t think would be enough unless they’re attaching high picks with them.

I can’t see Columbus willing to part with Johnson. Sillenger possibly but I wouldn’t be excited if he headlined the deal for Barzal.



I really like Del Bel Belluz and Pinnelli but I feel like I’d want a younger NHL guy in the deal.
