This is the general type of deal that I think Sabres fans want Adams to make -- consolidate a bunch of our higher-end prospects to go get a big fish.

That said, I can't imagine the Isles trading Barzal unless they're committed to some form of rebuild (which, IMO they should be.....but can't actually see it happening with Lou/Roy)
Not rebuild and I love Barzal but I feel like Roy wants a certain type of team. Isles need flexibility. They’ll most likely get it in Lee Nelson Palmieri coming off the books. Definitely unlikely Barzal gets traded but I figured those would be the types of packages and pieces the sabers would be willing to move. BUF is loaded with young roster pieces and prospects. They’re in good position to make a decent trade for a legit upgrade.

I just got that hunch that it is Owen Power
It's possible, I suppose. Especially if there's a top-pairing capable defense-first/best RHD coming back.

That said......I doubt it. He's made some rather large strides into becoming a legit top-pairing guy. Especially as it comes to using his big size to his advantage. He'll never be super physical defender, but once he learns how to position his body to his advantage consistently......look out.

Buffalo needs a high end skilled player that will impose a never stop playing, or play a full 60 minites character in thee locker room.
In short, the Sabres need Brad Marchand. Many fan bases despise him, but there can be no denying his ability to impose a positive will on the character of his locket room. My hats off to teams like Boston and Florida, they know how to get it done.

Has his game fallen off, or is it just a scenario where the coach doesn't like him?
Joki is more of a #5 D-man with upside, who has been forced onto the 1st or 2nd pairing his entire time in Buffalo.

He's a decent player, but he's being asked to play above his weight class. Buffalo has never tried him on the 3rd pairing, where he would likely excel.

He's been quietly fine playing with Dahlin on the top pairing this season. Not really sure why he's in Ruff's doghouse. All things considered, he was off to the best start of his career.

He reminds me a lot of Colin Miller. A good right handed 3rd pairing PMD who does well further up the line up in short assignments, but struggles if you ask too much.

Seems like the kind of guy who might quietly become pretty good in his late 20's. He's still only 25 years old.

Didn't someone from Buffalo mention in another thread they saw Adams and Dubas together at a Sabres game? Could be something brewing.

What is Buffalo's biggest need? Rakell and Rust are still effective top 6 wingers. If it's defense then Pettersson is the guy, he would bring stability to the d-corps.

Quality RD, a 2C who isn't struggling would be my 1-2 for what they need.

What about something around Brock Nelson and Sammuelson? Buffalo has plenty of LD and need a 2C badly
Nelson is an enigma for me... on one hand he is not the type of Center we need.. a center that can control the game and carry the puck.. he doesn't strike me as the ideal center much like Tage doesn't. On the other hand he is tough nosed and willing to battle in front of net and we could definitely use that. I'm not sure what his contract is but I don't see him having too many miles left.

They could use a few solid vets that can help push along the younger guys to being consistent pros, but as to where that's hard to tell. And I don't think anyone would like the "value" of that on a forum board.

I still like the Savoie for McCloud trade .. I am sure that one day it will grow to where it looks bad but that's OK...we needed it.

Understandable, but Nelson definitely has plenty of tread left. His past 3 years were the best of his career and he’s having a solid start this year too. He’s even being considered for 4 nations if that means anything to you too. He is a Ufa so that’s why we’d try to move him but just as a centerpiece Id like a deal around that.

I don't see the Sabres winning a trade to be honest. Whoever they trade with will end up being stronger IMO.

It's confusing because I see some very good forwards, some very good D and good goalies. This roster isn't bad at all.

My Oiler offer is Savoie for Kulich!

Nurse for Dahlin/Power

These are the shitty offers I think the Sabres will get.

They need NHL talent, not more prospects (Savoie) and they have a surplus of LD so they don't really need to flip one for another (Nurse).

Sure, I will take him back. Not a great example of a one sided trade though.
