To Buffalo: Kadri, Andersson
To Calgary: Cozens, Jokiharju, 1st
I'd do that, but I think most if not every Buffalo fan would say no because of Cozens - Kadri switch. And because they can't agree Andersson extension before the trade.

Nelson has a 16 team ntc so who knows if Buffalo's on it .

Maybe a fresh start on the island could do Cozens some good .

Sabres can extend Nelson with the money saved from moving Cozens

Well, I don't think it's very profitable. Nelson is 33 years old, UFA in the summer. Cozens is 23, his game has improved recently, he have two points behind Nelson, also Cozens has a difficult line, where on one wing there is drunk Jack Quinn, and on the other young Zach Benson, who only played most games with an ankle injury, and then did not play at all due to injury.

I think if we trade Cozens, it will be Cozens+ for the best center aged 23-28 years with a signed long-term contract. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to make sense. There might be interest in Nelson, but not at the expense of Cozens.

Not sure either team does this, but something around Power for Lafreniere.

Back to back first overall picks. Similar ages and contracts, trading from positions of strength for positions of need. Laf is my favorite player on the Rangers but this probably makes them a better team.

Maybe each team adds a little to balance it out. Rangers throw in Lindgren and Buffalo sends another forward back.
not exactly but sim to what I've said
LaF for Sanderson as a core

but bold = no

bread does not waive except maybe local
otherwise power for panarin as a core

Power is the guy most other clubs would covet. He’d bring back the best return too.

Jones has NMC so safe to say he would shoot down a trade

Murphy would be great fit but has a 10 tean NTC that could be problem

I assume all 7 of the teams in Canada are on list, The other 3 teams would be question

Man why does everybody always assume that a guy has a NTC that all of Canada is on it?

I don't get it, Calgary aside the rest of the Canadian teams do not have a problem attracting and/or keeping talent, they haven't for years.

I bet you the 14-1?, 15-1? Winnipeg Jets are not on Murphy NTC, and even if they are I bet he'd waive to join that team in about 0.5 seconds, most would right now.

Same with the Oilers, Leafs and Canucks, all strong teams and I bet he'd waive for all of them.

Most players would right now.

fair 'nuf
Lindy is 4.5 expiring
is holding back Mancini from roster spot
what do you offer?
I'd look to offer a decent prospect and a mid round pick. Something like Ryan Johnson and a 4th.

This would have to assume the Sabres are trading a defenseman to make room, they already have a full roster in the NHL I believe.

To Buffalo: Kadri, Andersson
To Calgary: Cozens, Jokiharju, 1st
I'd honestly think long and hard about this IF an extension could be worked out prior to trade. Joker is not in the team's long term plans, and while I love Cozens adding Andersson would be huge for our team.

We don’t need retention - and Noah ostlund is not in that trade

We need to keep Bryan and add another top 4 d - and jettison henri
I Line Byram but how ma y LHD’s can one team have? I know Dahlin plays RHD too but still. They really need a RHD in their top 4 IMO and one with experience would be very helpful.

And yeah, Henri’s gotta go for sure. Samuelsson has been awful this season and is now hurt again too.

Byram - Dahlin
Power - xxxx

Someone like Murphy would be a good fit. A guy like Carlo is expensive to get without losing a good player from roster.

Crazy that the Sabres don't perform better they have a real good team.
No weak spot really.
What's their problem ? coaching ? Chemistry ?

Does Sabers do Tuch for Carlo one for one?
No, why do we need this? Have you seen our lineup in attack and how it plays? We'll plug one hole on RD and a hole 1RW will appear. Rosen + Jokiharju for Carlo I would do it, Boston probably not, I don't know, although Rosen is good.

It may be difficult to get Rasmus Andersson from his faithful club Calgary.

Unlikely that Calgary wants to change Rasmus Andersson.

Rasmus Andersson are Calgary loyal?

Rasmus Andersson has always gage on Calgary?

I don’t think they do either.

But I’m also on board with the Carlo for Byram + Rosen trade idea.
I thnik it s a good trade for both side, Bruins need a offensive D for the PP and Rosen a good prospect, but Bruns really need a top 6 winger now

Buffalo desperately needs a couple of Nick Foligno type players - hustle, leadership, modicum of skill.

I strongly doubt Chicago would move Nick, but he’s the type of guy Buffalo sorely lacks.

Accountability seems lacking in Buffalo.
An obvious target would be Marcus Foligno, who was born in Buffalo, and played for them early on. They traded him, of course, and he went on to have his best years in MN. Marcus is big, very tough, forechecks hard, and is excellent defensively. A guy like Jake Middleton would also help them a lot.

Unfortunately for BUF, I don't see either of those players wanting to go to the Sabres. The stench of a losing organization isn't very appealing.

Again, the problem in BUF isn't on ice personnel(though they could use some "heavier" players), but off ice/management.

I honestly think it's a little from each column. And getting a bit more specific -- I don't think it's the on-ice physical talent that's the issue. The longer this core is together......the more I truly wonder if these guys have the right amount of hockey IQ to really hit their peak.

Tage is the only guy I've seen in this process who has developed the IQ part of his game.....what he's done this year as a 2-way player and generally making the right decisions is nothing short of remarkable. Peterka too, to an extent -- though he is guilty sometimes of being too deferential to Tage and Tuch (hopefully that goes away as he gets older).

But I also see players (especially defensemen) making the same mistakes over and over and over.

Dahlin, Power, Byram and Jokiharju the Sabres top 4 choose defence and has high value.

Helenius was drafted high and has a high value.
