NYI- Barzal

BUF- Rosen + Helenius+ rights to Strbak + rights to Ziemer

Or

NYI - Barzal

BUF- Benson + Kulich
I wouldn't want to trade Helenius and especially Benson. Everything else, of course. There could also be Quinn or Cozens (if you are interested).

I really hope its the Calgary Flames.

Flames would trade Andersson to the Sabres for a 2025/6/7 unprotected first and Buffalo would break their playoff drought that year. Guar-an-f***ing-teed.

It's the Flames way, 0 luck as a franchise. Anytime we trade for 1sts that team always shoots up the standings (look at Jersey this year, Vancouver last year although they were already high up). Never do we trade for one and that team falters to give us a better pick. I watch teams trade firsts that turn into 2nd overall (Seguin), Av's getting Sens top 4 pick. Flames get 22nd+ overalls. :(

Are you seriously talking to Sabres fans about franchise luck

League sources say the Buffalo Sabres are among the busier teams phoning around sizing up the trade market. I asked Sabres GM Kevyn Adams about that Tuesday, and he said, “I believe in this group, but at the same time I am looking into every possible way to improve our roster.”

Said one rival team executive about the Sabres: “They’re looking to do something big if they can.”

At this point Sabres need to just remain patient. Stay the course while this roster learns to win.

I really like a lot of Columbus’s pieces, but I don’t think they match up well with a Barzal trade. The reason is, I think the player or players the isles would want Columbus wouldn’t wanna give up and the prospects they’d be willing to give up. I don’t think would be enough unless they’re attaching high picks with them.

I can’t see Columbus willing to part with Johnson. Sillenger possibly but I wouldn’t be excited if he headlined the deal for Barzal.

I really like Del Bel Belluz and Pinnelli but I feel like I’d want a younger NHL guy in the deal.
KJ is a no go, Sillinger is definitely a possibility along with Jiricek, Malatesta and a number of other prospects

The problem isn't about the players, for the most part. Sure, they could use one or two good SAH Dmen, but so could most teams. Maybe one or two big, nasty, middle six forwards. At some point, though, someone has to wonder at the success of ROR, Reinhart, Eichel, and to a lesser extent, Mittelstadt and Erod(I am leaving out a few others)once they leave the organization.
Problem is coaching, and team construction. They are not consistent, and have no identity, besides being losers. Are they a great offensive team? Tough? Defensive? Heavy forecheckers? Conservative? Answer is that they are all of those things- sometimes. Other times they are none of the above.
Bringing in a couple of players with good talent and huge work ethic would help, sure, but would be futile if the management didn't back them up. I don't think they know how.

I guess “big” could involve Buffalo moving picks and prospects

Becuase I forgot about their cap space from the buyout

They could take on somebody straight up.

Shesty extended 5 yrs at 12.2 per
KA Miller
cap dumps vesey, Lindgren

for Power + Dahlin + ________ [deadwood]

somethin like dat...
Absolutely not. Shesty is a great goaltender, but our defense would boarder on worst in the league and have no cupboard to backfill over the next few years. In addition, we would need to figure out UPL and Levi

Lindgren would be an interesting bottom 4 option to pursue, but nothing else really.

Canucks would salivate if they could get Byram but I doubt they have the cap space. He played for the Giants and have been interested in him before. Oh wait he doesn’t make all that much. Most teams could find a way.

Brother you've won two lotteries in the past decade, Flames haven't picked higher than 4th overall in our history. I don't think your organization lacks luck, just competence.
Sabres have finished dead last 4 times and bottom 10 in 10 of the last 12 seasons.

If you want to be bad long enough to win 2 lotteries like the Sabres have... be my guest.

Patience isn't the solution. Changing team culture is.

Sure, you can't just make trades to fix the Sabres. But they need a complete overhaul as far as culture is concerned. And that will involve changing the roster quite a bit.

Big trades start from the direction of the owner
What's the owners appetite like recently? if he has done any interviews

does he seem restless?

you could pinpoint a trade with our owner every time by his twitter, and interviews.
