Only way is if the Leafs move Rielly as part of the deal. Leafs would be looking for one of the Devils top prospects back. I am not a fan of Subban at all. But something like Subban retained plus Dawson Mercer for Rielly ? Would hate to lose Rielly for nothing. But god I hope they look in a different direction than Subban.
Trust me, I don't think you have to worry about that being the trade.....

Bruins biggest needs:

#2C
#1LD

Tbh, in his prime I would have loved him on the B's (yes, I know blasphemy), but I don't see how he's a fit right in now. Too big of a cap hit, even with max retention, and doesn't really fit a big need.

Only way this works is if it's something along the lines of Subban 50% retained + one of their good young stars for Marner/Nylander + Holl as a base

even at 50 percent retained the leafs cant fit him
If the leafs want him they cab fit him in . Nobody seems to understand to add they must subtract. . Adding a D most likely means another D would be shpped out. Dermott?
I d9jt think subban is the answer but if dubas wants him he can get him , make no mistake on that.

Agreed. NJ has to absolutely retain salary.

PK is a need in TOR: RHD and a scoring threat on the PP. Holl can move up and down the line up if need be.

Dermott and Kerfoot could go the other way (if that is indeed what NJ are looking for).

Kerfoot to NJ is a non starter. The Devils drafted Kerfoot and he walked away from them (took college grad route to ufa rather than signed with the team that drafted him), there’s no going back.

It doesn't sound too out there. Subban and Marchand are good friends, aren't they?

PK Subban is a very highly passionate player. Put him in a market like Boston or Toronto - and in my opinion he'll find a way to thrive and excel
Even in his last year with us in Nashville when it had become obvious that he was crippled by whatever the chronic back injury is, he still found a way to elevate his game and be our best defenseman in both zones in the playoffs again.

As long as the team he goes to doesn't have some kind of rigid established dressing room hierarchy that chooses to butt heads with his effervescent personality, then he definitely brings passion and energy in the playoffs.

Hello Bruins. Like we as maple leafs don't have that cap size neither sire. We ain'ts also need for a subban. He aaight, tight and cool, I like him and his gezame, but we ain'ts have the need for him sire. Him and simmonds and gabriel and ritchie would kill-big-time in toronto. Party up and all, hits checks and fights, but we ain't have that money space. We do have the money, the power and the personel though. But not the room.

Some of our other suckas would have to move into the other direction. Like -50% and Dermott and Engvall. Would it be enough even then. Some other fool might add that upp and calculate with math sire. But we ain't probably gon do it sire.
What kind of schtick are you trying to do?

There's no going back?

This is silly. Are you saying this is personal?

Salary aside Subban is the absolute last type of player the Leafs should be adding. They are fine on defense they need to add a top 6 winger of substance.

Toronto could definitely use another RHD. But your opinion is appreciated. I mean TOR doesn't need another overpaid player if that's what your saying.

Leafs maybe, Bruins this is Murphy so it has no facts involved at all. Last thing they need is a RD, like at least fill a need, lol.

Or ya know. Kerfoote plus a 3rd to devils for subban 50 percent. And a 2nd or 3rd to Arizona for another 25 percent retained.
