Ryane Clowe

I could see Torres more than Nystrom. Torres is more of an agitator. Nystrom reminds me a bit of Greg Campbell. Decent bottom liner--likes to mix it up but doesn't win very often.
 
Assuming that Clowe is healthy, (the Boogie situation raises some doubt) this is one of those deals the Rangers have to do. Reasoning:

- They have no one in the line up currently that gives them what Clowe can potentially provide.

Despite the avowed hatred for dump and chase on these boards that is what playoff hockey boils down to much of the time. Lots of board work, cycling and mucking in an effort to create a forecheck and mistakes by your opponent. It's a war of attrition that the Rangers are a bit better off waging this morning....at least on paper.

-It's now as obvious as it can possibly be that the departure of Feds, Pruster, Anisimov and Dubi created a vacuum in the line up and locker room. They need good "glue guys" and Clowe's reputation fills that need also.

There is some doubt here, but I'm hopeful this guy can bring some of what seems to be lacking. Maybe he can create a bit more space for players like Gabby, Hags, Richie and Zucc to produce more. If he can put up a few points so much the better.

It's a decent move given what we need and what we already have.

please. that guy is a ****ing disease. and no-one ever does anything...matt cooke too. players with no respect for their fellow players. mental cases. clean up the mess! i don't care if the guy ever scores another goal. just play tough and support the rest of the team. the rangers are dying for that.

The Clowe vs. Lucic fights can finally happen now (I wanted them in the 2011 SCF... :cry:) This is one positive. This man is a true bad ass who can actually contribute. I never saw this horrible of a season coming for him I was actually optimistic. I think he'll really help out the Rangers and I feel sorry for any of your eastern conference foes messing with your players. He was basically Couture and the youngsters bodyguard out in SJ.

(BTW don't crucify me I also like Lucic and think they are similar types of players, but Lucic has more of the "goon" aspect and Clowe is the warrior and can make plays. You will see. He will be missed and was well loved in the SJ locker room. A fan favorite for a reason.)
 
This dude eats nails for lunch.So happy.Ultimate team guy.He is very good at what he does.He should be in our top 6 regardless of his 0 goals so far.He is perfect for Lucic and Neil.
 
Wonder if an extension gets announced soon since they were able to trade Gabby today, and not wait until the summer.

All the posters saying they hated the trade yesterday should apologize for making me, you, and others become dumber with every whine and complaint they wrote yesterday.
 
laughing at everyone who couldnt stop bringing up his zero goals. the dude is an excellent player and happy to see him succeed in his first game
 
Seriously, I rarely get gotten to over HFBoards but the people who just said "CLOWE ZERO GOALS BOURQUE AND 3RD OR TRAVIS MOEN" (which was plenty of you people) pissed me off so much. Clowe is a good player and he's got two goals now, he's gonna finish the season with 7, he's a playoff warrior and you're all being ridiculous if you don't understand his contributions to an NHL team.

i feel you man, bc i felt the same way when we traded Dubi.. but honestly on this same board a few years ago poeple wanted to trade dubi for clowe (dubi brings similar intangibles but clowe with way more offense).. so happy we got him, even before tn, when the trade was announced.. soo mad people we're doubting him..
