Yeah... I refer to a shut-down guy as a guy who wouldn't be playing much, if at all, if he weren't so good defensively.

Stepan is a no. 1 guy, I was saying that for a long time. I'd refer to him as a playmaker who can score, and good defensively, but not a shut-down specialist.

I actually even see clowe as a bit of a shutd-down guy more like Dubinsky, and not as much by smarts and intuiton, like Stepan or Anisimov.
