I feel that Ryan Mc. has shown us a lot of quality plays recently as a NYR captain after the All star game - he has improved with important assist/goals the past months.
It`s a positive thread about our captain who might carry over on saturday with another win for us! :)
 
Quietly having a great season. Too bad he has an anchor attached to him.

The fluidity and confidence in his game is night and day from what it was last year. He got beat clean a lot last year and forced a lot of plays with the puck last year. This year he's being assertive, smart, and making almost all the right plays while being highly efficient offensively.

He had a horrible month of October where he had like 2 points. That doesn't happen and we're looking at a 50 point season.
 
He just may not consider goalies players, I know I don't. As a lot, they're a nuisance and mostly crazy. (this is the one part I am not joking, it's tough finding a well adjusted goalie, the lot of them, are loons) lol
 
McDonagh's been consistent all season, was also consistent all of 2013-14. Last season I think injuries and the captaincy slowed him down, but he's rebounded very nicely. Hank's been so up and down this season, there's less certainty with his play for me than McDonagh's.

Hank has the highest ES save% of his career this year. By far. It's our putrid PK which has done him in.

McDonagh's been awesome. Especially coming back from his concussion recently.

I think even the people who didn't want Lundqvist when his contract was extended still thought he was our most important player even if they thought we should move the King to make room for our version of Kane and Toews.
 
here to Give the captain some props. hasn't lost a step even after suffering two brutal hits that lead to injuries. not only is he playing well but you can see he's playing with a little more fire and passion when the team needs it. Leading by example.
 
WAS not left off the USA World Cup first 16.

They are interviewing Parise on SportsCenter right now. He was asked to name who should be captain, he singled out McDonagh and only McDonagh.

I feel like with the job he did on Ovechkin, the two assists were just because he's a nice guy.

Quietly putting together some season.
 
McD has quietly had a great season for the most part. I think it's fair to say he's back.

Who knows what was up with him for most of last season. Maybe recovering from injuries? Nerves of 1st year captaincy? Personal life issues?
