McDonagh was terrible his first few games and it was no one's fault but his own.
For his foot still being jacked up. His play has been fine
Just to clarify an item about Ryan McDonagh’s foot from Monday. The injury — the broken bone — is completely healed. The original report was that there is a line in the x-ray. That is normal for a healed broken bone. There will be a line visible in the x-ray, as McDonagh said, a “microscopic†line. That would be the case in Derek Stepan’s jaw, in Kevin Klein’s arm, in Marc Staal’s leg, or in anybody’s broken bone. McDonagh’s foot is completely healed. “It’s 100 percent right now,†McDonagh said Monday. “That’s all I can say about it. If it wasn’t healed or it wasn’t safe they wouldn’t let me play. There’s nothing wrong with it — microscopic things you would see, in the nature of how a bone heals. You’ll see stuff for a long time in an X-ray if you were to take one. So everything’s good.†- See more at: http://rangers.lohudblogs.com/2015/...-mcdonagh-clarification/#sthash.QGyVQjCZ.dpuf
mcdonagh has been just short of perfect the past 3-4 games
Agreed. Looking like his prime, confident pre-injury self.
Think it's save to say, McD is BACK.
He is playing like a superstar defenseman again.
I know it's a ****** stat and our regular season was relatively mediocre compared to 11-12 and 14-15, but I was shocked when I saw McD had only a +11 in 13-14.

Well the team also started off with like a -17272829111929191911717181919118119 goal differential after the first 10 games.
He's playing so well. For all the complaining about the first pair, they are the only two defenseman playing well right now, yet we are somehow on a 9 game winning streak.
McDonagh, Girardi, Klein, and Yandle have all played well recently. Boyle has had some really good moments, as well as some really iffy ones, so I'll call him and McIlrath a wash.
Our only issue on defense is Marc Staal.
Klein has not been good recently. He's actually been pretty bad since the first few games. Maybe its time we stop judging on the first five games of the season, and judge on the whole season.
Oscar Lindberg hasn't been good since either, but most would say he's having a very good season since he started so well.

It's Staal as his partner. They're just never in sync on the ice, make poor reads together, and the opposition always takes advantage of it. He's been very good when paired with McDonagh or Yandle.
